You can if you look ,a 75k home of you ,if the equity is in it should it be salvageable. These do exist but are rare.

They weren't rare until non safety zoning regulations and bankers creating inflation made them rare. Once upon a time $75,000 brand new homes were the norm (CPI equivalent). They could be again if bankers and non safety zoning were voted out.

State code is beyond local control ,the county ,cities have p and z boards .you can attend any commission and observe and also any public meeting on zoning
 
I will say the big three...

Cars are becoming unaffordable for the majority. People used to buy cars. They can't afford that anymore so now people are leasing cars. Even that may not be enough in the future if inflation continues the way it has been.

I bought my first used car for $400 cash, and drove it to work for 4 years.

Voters can vote on both state and local levels. It can be done. We just need people to speak up with the right information.

I have never seen us.code,state,code international code boards on any ballot. These are set by meeting builders who are experts in codes.can't build without knowing the code and passing the board. A commission isn't a voting ,but makes reccomadations,these board is set up by the county or city office holders.
 
For now ,inflation,via the feds,will remain.we digress if we go there.

That said property vslues are set on location, and also what was sold near it .views of the ocean,river lake,also other scenic determine it,plus good schools etc.

Mandating that new homes be a minimum of 3000 sq ft, yards be at least an acre, and special bricks be used that are only produced by a single vendor are silly.

They dont do that here,home sizes are determined by the builder under a development who sells them as a type of lifestyle. I will photo such a place on my route tommorow
