Well, I suppose this is what you have to do when God isn't funding your church growth plans. They are pretty much declaring God is not in it, and that's why they have to do this.
Next up,pot, beer and tattoos and a Colorado mountain hike, spartan race ,etc yada yada for a church plant.

That's irrelevant considering that the deal is the person who pays for it gets to give it to you :eek, if I read the article correctly.

Oh ok. So if I were to indulge I couldn't ask for 2 Turtle Doves? One with my name underneath and my wife's name under the other.

I've always wanted to do that but baulk at it.

It doesn't sound like the best way for a church to raise funds to me, but whether it's actually right or wrong comes down to whether or not drinking a beer or getting a tattoo is right or wrong. And that's an area Christians in general are never going to agree on.

That's sweet, it really is, but if you let someone like me tattoo it on you for a price it would probably resemble something out of the abyss. :lol

Wait 15 or 20 years, or however long it takes, when tattoos are definitely no longer so closely associated with rebellion and arrogance.

As long we have Bill & Tori I'm ok with that, although a refund me be required.

Noah had a few to many. Jesus made good wine.

I think a drink in moderation is OK.
You are right, there is no condemnation in scripture of drinking alcohol. The only condemnation is in abusing it, or becoming a "drunkard".

But in light of all of the problems with alcoholism in our society, I just don't know if it's something the church should be promoting this way. It's one thing to just not condemn it. It's another thing to outright promote and encourage it. In light of how many people have problems with alcohol, to me this seems to be crossing the line into putting a "stumbling block" in front of people.

I am sure there are much better ways to fundraise than beer and tattoos.

That would be a first, a church established thanks to beer.

No wait necessary.
The time is now.

Naw, I disagree.
As long as us old pharts are still alive tattoos will still first scream 'rebellion' and 'sensuality', no matter what the true motive and heart of the tattooed really was when they go it. We'll have to die off before they become like men's pants on women is now in the church.

Jethro are you against women wearing pants in the church ?

LOL. You do realize, don't you, that very few women wear men's pants to church, right? In fact, I can't recall ever seeing one. Women's pants are cut and shaped different.
