Church Beer and Tattoo's

LOL. You do realize, don't you, that very few women wear men's pants to church, right? In fact, I can't recall ever seeing one. Women's pants are cut and shaped different.
Thank you for chiming in for the legalist's camp. :lol

(The buttons and zippers are different on women's pants too, right?)

Naw, I disagree.
As long as us old pharts are still alive tattoos will still first scream 'rebellion' and 'sensuality', no matter what the true motive and heart of the tattooed really was when they go it. We'll have to die off before they become like men's pants on women is now in the church.
How about those that get tattooed to give a message?
Ummm.
Are you against women wearing pants?
(not in the being the boss sense)
Are you sorry they're accepted?
Is this what Paul was talking about?
Gosh. I sure hope not!!

Jethro doesn't get it Obadiah.
I hate wearing men's pants myself.
I much prefer to wear woman's pants. They're cuter.
LOL

The legalist's camp? :hips I thought I was taking the opposite side! :lol
Back when pants were only men's clothing it was wrong for a woman to wear pants.

No, because they are no longer only men's clothing.

Are you sorry they're accepted?
No.
I'm pretty sure God does not have a celestial dress code for men and women. He just expects women to dress like women, and men to dress like men according to whatever the accepted standard is among them.

Is this what Paul was talking about?
Not sure which reference you're referring to.

The point is, somewhere along the line pants were no longer men's only clothing and so it was no longer considered flaunting a woman's rebellion (and possible sexual disorientation) when a woman wore them. That's how it's going to have to get with tattoos before they won't be the controversial thing that they are in the church today. There's still enough of us still alive who will instantly connect tattoos with rebellion, sexuality, and arrogance because we were alive when they did in fact represent that about a person.

I give it 15 years minimum before they become accepted as just another fashion statement with no negative connotations attached. I doubt the church from Arizona in the OP will wait that long, though.

Why was it wrong then and not now?
Isn't God the same yesterday, today and tomorrow?

No, because they are no longer only men's clothing.
Who says so??
I don't trust man.

No.

Yeah. He does. This long white thingy.

Jethro! I know something you don't?? Maybe you'll listen to me from now on!!
Deuteronomy 22:5
yeah. yeah. You forgot...

Some churches accept this now. They're happy to accept anyone - as long as they show up!

(I WAS JUST KIDDING FOR THIS WHOLE POST - just in case you didn't figure it out)

Wondering

Yes, the church has adopted the military saying, "Kill 'em all, and let God sort 'em out" (or something like that), and altered it slightly to, "Bring 'em all in, and let God sort 'em out". A church growth philosophy that I resist because, IMO, it waters down and weakens the church and gives fertile ground for the latest false doctrines to flourish in the church, like hyp....never mind.

Man we had a blast at that church the beer was flowing

Yes, don't we wish all our kids would end up like this. And how much better than with a little help from the church.
