Church history

not sure if this is in the right forum....but
what is some of the earliest church history we have of how a church service "went" (obviously outside of the bible) looking for things like
1. how exactly was communion "held"?
2. how big were some of the congregations? like for example when the 3K were converted in Jersulem do we know where they all worshiped, etc...

basically anything as close to 1st century the better.... please include references, etc... if possible

A lot is mere tradition.

The main thing is, get the Biblical doctrine right first; understand it clearly and thus separate what is directly Biblical from what is merely traditional. Thus we will understand better whether what some churches practise is Biblically necessary or not.

The biggest thing is, study closely the New Testament passages about how, for example, the Lord's Supper was carried out: from Matthew 26, Mark 14, Luke 22, 1 Corinthians 11 and so on.

not that i mind the topic but this will head into a catholic debate which isnt the part of the forum for this. one on one and end times is.

trust me, i am not trying to head this in the catolic direction.... part of the reason i was asking is i was reading some debates on one cup vs. multiple cups and just trying to do some research to help myself understand better..... just trying to learn, nothing more, nothing less....
