It happened in florida, so with some of the property tax laws I can simply go to my county and look up. if he can do that in Escambia county, so can david nolte here.Doh!!! I read like 3 differnt links and all said the same............ I guess I need to research better. Thanks for clearing that up though.
Yeah, I kinda' panicked too before I read the article Jason found.Well, that makes a lot more sense than the little article I read when the news first came out. The way the first Article came out with news of the types of t-shirts and things, and the Sherrif saying this is no church, it appeared that it was a church gone crazy.
The headline (Which is often misleading) Read Church looses it's tax exempt status.
I guess it never was a churh in it's current state but enjoying tax exempt status.
Thank you for clearing that up.

that makes more senseWell, the Head lines "Church looses tax exempt status" would logically make one believe it was a church. The story sounded as if they caught this Church doing things that should not be in Church.
That is how it read.
Come to find out, it use to be a church and was not even a church, but still enjoying the tax exempt status on the property.
That changes everything.
Flordia is a strange country. I hear other things about flordia.
Oh.....never mind.Come to find out, it use to be a church and was not even a church, but still enjoying the tax exempt status on the property.
That changes everything.
Funny how it wasn't unbelievable at first.that makes more sense
It's called journalism. What bugs me is that SO MANY will remember the headline ... but not the facts.

Have em?recently it was rated as one of the most freer states. im not saying we don't have the nuts. we do
I beg to differ it the snowbirds that fly in that are often the whackos.Have em?
You grow 'em down there, lol.
I'm not sure where (in the Bible) but, aren't there examples of churches that actually did do something like this. Where they were really a church to start out but got so far from God that they used scripture to justify strange things like this? I'm thinking maybe the Gnostics.Well, it was deception. Nobody cares about a local Brothel that lost it's tax exempt status.
Make it a church, and say Naked Paint parties, that gets attention. I fell for it.
To my defense I did try to find information about it, but did not find what others found.
It was no church to start with as the Headline suggested.
And I'm guessing you're now ready to gouge your eye out, right?...I did try to find information about it, but did not find what others found.
I am firm believer in the separation of church and state the state cannot determine what is a church in the strictest sense of the word ..i could have meetings in my home and we worship dogs and by definition according to way our group is structured it could be considered a church .What the government can do and has right i believe to do is define for tax and other legal purposes what a church is ,,the same way it defines what any legal entity that collects money . it grants exemptions based on the law this is the right in my opinion of the government .
I understand your argument but i think you have misunderstood what is going on here ..The government is not making a religious determination they are making a civil one by saying you are engaging in practices which no longer meet the guidelines of what we have determined constitute a church for tax exemption purposes .. Actually the focus should be on any laws broken by charging the fee to engage in a naked party and the consideraation of the welfare of children they may be there . im not debating with you we will agree to disagree i just think you are seeing this as a they against us situation and i dont think thats the case ..

the news article implies that by the headline but if you go back and read my link. its clearly wasn't a church.ok i was under the impression that the op was asserting that it was a church im confused
