Church

I live by the word of God as it is contained in the holy scriptures.. and there's nothing in there about a eucharist or people eating God...

Is Jesus God?

Jesus said we must eat His flesh and blood. Apparently, as odd as it may sound (no more than a man rising from the dead...), we are commanded to do and believe it. Early Christians believed both. What happened along the way, take a guess... You disobey the Bible's dictates regarding dissension, tearing up the Body of Christ. Not good.

they eat WITH God at His table. Paul says that we can't eat from the Lord's table and from the table of devils... so does that mean that you're literally eating devils when you eat from his table..?

??? :screwloose I am not following that logic. How did you get there again???

I mean you do actually believe that you're eating God when you eat at HIS table, correct ? So why the disconnect ?

I suppose it is either/or with you. So when God came down into the form of man, God was no longer in the heavens directing the universe...? Or perhaps the Father was without His Word, without Intellect, during that 33 years???

Regardless, it's pointless to discuss the church of God with a person who can't see past the RCC so I'll leave it at that.

And it's pointless to argue with a sola scripturist person who worships a book, but hey, there is hope that God may open your eyes someday.

Regards

In the same chapter He said that the words which He speaks, they are spirit and they are life, and that the flesh profits nothing.. perhaps you don't like that part, I'm not sure..

What benefit does your flesh get from eating God... and why is your flesh failing like the rest of us.. if you Catholics are literally eating God, then why are you no different than anyone else with regards to the flesh... it's still dying.. it's still condemned, and it's passing away..?

??? :screwloose I am not following that logic. How did you get there again???

I think you know exactly what I mean and that you'd rather be disingenuous rather than confront an obvious disconnect in your thinking... but here it is again.

1. You believe that you are eating God at His table at the Lord's Supper.

2. Paul tells us that we can't eat from the Lord's table and from the table of devils..

3. So when you eat from the devils table (and I'm sure that you have) are you literally eating devils ?

And it's pointless to argue with a sola scripturist person who worships a book, but hey, there is hope that God may open your eyes someday.

I don't worship the holy scriptures, although I do accept that they are precisely that, the word of God and everything therein comes straight from HIM.. all scripture is given by inspiration of God.. evidently you'd rather pay more attention to what men have to say rather than to what God has said in His word, and which is for ever settled in Heaven.

since this thread has turned toward catholicism debates several times and i can see why, but i'm locking this its not the topic or proper forum.
