And whether global warming is man-made or not--even if it wasn't--is of no consequence. It's whether there is danger. If you want to say, "Animals have gone extinct before, and more will be to come. Humans will go extinct one day. So let's just go along with it...". Maybe YOU can just go with it. I will not. Unfortunately, we both have to live on the same planet.

And I already know that even if I detail out what happens thermodynamically to the earth if the polar caps are gone, that will get dismissed as "fearmongering," so I will save my fingers the workout.

It's all part of the progression. Our very existence contributes CO2 and methane to our atmosphere. We breathe in oxygen and exhale CO2. We consume and digest carbon foods and expel methane and CO2 in our waste. We cook our food, heat our homes and other buildings, mine minerals and ores from the ground to manufacture foods, tools, building materials, and so forth. We clear the land to build our homes, factories, parking lots, roadways, entertainment centers, and even clear the land of carbon consuming flora to install windmills and solar panels.

We currently do not have the technology to replace our processes of life in order to stop emitting greenhouse gases. Even if we all died today, our bodies would decompose and release CO2 and methane by the mega tons into the atmosphere.

There's nothing wrong with working toward doing better but to completely disrupt and destroy our lifestyles in the process is self-destructive.

How peculiar. Since the vast majority of climate scientists think that we are facing serious consequences from man-made climate change, I would think that would be enough.

What I get a kick out of is the prediction that unless we do something now, the world as we know it is doomed in 10 or 12 years. I believe that if we were truly that close to total disaster or something close to it, there would be nothing we could do right now that would alter that doomed outcome. We think we have so much power and we are so smart but we don't really know much at all.

Actually everything I have read on that is we have until that time to take serious action or the climate is then inevitably on a course to virtual uninhabitable conditions. Still a question of true or not. But I don’t think anyone of scientific substance says the end is a couple decades away.

The consensus of scientist who believe in the theroy of man caused global warming is a hoax created by John Cook In his paper on the issue. He wrongly states that of over 11,000 science papers on the issue 97% agree that man is causing catastrophic global warming. Well only a third of the scientist say this. Two thirds of the scientist have no opinion on the issue. So from that Mr Cook somehow got a 97% consensus.

Ye same. People tend to think that cos i doubt the climate change rhetoric that i don't care about the environment or pollution. That's not true, we have the same goals just different motivations.

The energy industry is one of the biggest in the world. Gas, electricity, oil, petrchem mining, it encompasses a multitude of industries.

Over the years there have been people that have designed and built alternate energy systems. However such energy systems would spell the end for a lot of those energy industries. So they always get suppressed. The big companies buy them out usually or no one wants to finance the projects.

Take the motor vehicle. It's been around for over 100 years. But it is still the same cylinder combustion engine that was used in the first motorcars.
Better engines have been proposed in the past all vanished.
Only now do we see an emergence of hybrid vehicle, electric powered usually with a traditional engine

Nikola Tesla was the greatest scientist of the 20th century and smartest man in the world at the time according to Albert Einstein. He was such a genius. I strongly recommend watching as doco on him if your interested in that kind of thing

According to Tesla he had figured out how to deliver electricity to everyone in the world not through cables but through the atmosphere, for free he claimed.
So he started building his first tower with the funding he was receiving from a big company. But when they saw that everyone would eventually have "free energy" they stopped funding Tesla.

Unfortunately Nikola wasn't as good a business man as he was a scientist. He should of been rich by then but had made bad choices. Left on the fringes his genius was suppressed and forgotten.

Recently, I read an article about how Portland, Oregon is putting turbines in their municipal water lines in strategic positions to generate power off of the movement of the water through the system. Aside from the cost of installing them, it is basically low cost, if not free, power. Quite ingenious really.

Yeah...the power companies that transmit power on the transmission lines get in trouble for that stuff.
And it's not feasible for usable amounts. Too many people and it will be as good as dead...aka no power. Too much power and then people start getting hit by random arcs.

Then there's the whole touching water issue... what happens when the plumbing leaks? (All plumbing leaks eventually)
And how time consuming is it to work with plumbing vx wire?

Wire is safer, not subject to being converted into base elements of pure hydrogen and pure oxygen...last I heard those two individually are explosive. Wouldn't want to be in an enclosed space with those gasses present. A static charge is enough to set them off...

climate change/cycle is a fact since the earth's creation - the earth goes through warming/melting and cooling/freezing cycles -

scary doom and gloom climate change is a conspiracy meant to scare people into not using cars and planes and gas heating and eating ozone harming beef - why do they want us to all be vegetarians and walk or cycle? - all kinds of crazy reasons not worth discussing

Silicone purification is agreeably very messy, dangerous, and a toxic process. Hexathanes have to be used...and that stuff is absorbed quickly through your skin. They start cutting off body parts to save your life. If you inhale a spray of it from pressurized pipes leaking...think your prayers because you won't have time or breath to say them.

It is also explosive when it comes in contact with water...and combusts easily. They usually keep it liquid and flushed with lots of pure nitrogen gas.

No, that's false. In fact, every major scientific group involved with climate has stated that global warming is a fact and is man-made.

Even in the 1970s, the vast majority of climatology papers in which the subject came up, indicated warming was coming. Would you like to see that?

I think scripture is true and what it says. There is no basis for human extinction, or that the world is going to be so hot at one point we will all die, etc. Anxious people are a dime a dozen. I do not think people are panicking about it, people live their lives without a care of the world. Naturally people are afraid of death, that is what is important.
