I saw the inventors on "Shark Tank" (one of my favorite shows) a couple weeks back. This is an amazing invention.

You stick these "Joulies" in your coffee and they maintain your coffee at a 140 degrees. I guess thats supposed to be a very good temperature. When your coffee is above 140 degrees, these joulies soak and store the heat. Then when your coffee starts to cool down, the joulies releseae the heat to maintain the 140 degrees.

I thought this was very cool. As of now, they are sold out but you can provide your email address and they will let you know when they have more.

Did you see the PRICE? For $79.95, I can do a lot more good around my house than keep my coffee warm. Ever hear of an electric coaster? They do the same thing a lot cheaper.
 
This is different ahn an electric coaster. It also takes a very hot coffee and cools it down to 140 degrees. I hate it when I get a coffee and its so hot that I have to wait forever to drink it. So it not only keeps the coffee warm, it also cools it down and maintains the temperature.

I think the price is actually $50. You may be looking at bundle with extra stuff that costs $80. Its still a little high on price, but probably worth it for some.

No matter what the price, I still think this is a very cool invention.

I realize that. I don't have one of those, either. But I'm not paying $80 for stainless steel beans to keep my coffee warm. Sheez! And now you're saying one bean costs $50? For a stainless steel fake bean? I think not.
 
It's expensive. I agree. But its the same as any new technology/invention. The price will go down though.

I would probably buy it if they took the material in the beans and built it into the cup, rather than have these loose beans to have to worry about.
 
I agree these are a bit pricey. Also, how big are these things, really? You can't really tell from the picture, and could be a choking hazard depending on the size. I agree this technology would be better used in making mugs rather than just the beans you but inside the mug.
 
I don't put anything in my coffee, not even cream and sugar. I stopped buying Maxwell House years ago when they started putting a desiccant packet in the can.

I too, plain black coffee. I hate espresso though, in Spain/Italy/France they dont know how to drink coffee, they just drink espresso in this tiny cups :gah I prefer a big mug of coffee.

Nothing beats fresh grinded coffee beans, in the office we only have grounded coffee though :sad

But I agree with Corey, this invention is great. I have a big problem with I usually never drink the last part of the coffee because its usually gotten cold. If they can make it little more affordable and so that you will not swallow it I would buy this.

Grounded coffee? Does that mean you have a green wire coming out of your mugs?

Say what? :P I don't know.. I just did a quick search and thought that filterkaffe is "grounded coffee" or maybe its "filter coffee" in english. I don't know. I'm talking about the coffee that is the form of powder which the water filters through on the way to the cup instead of the powder you just add in hot water.

I know, I was just messing with you. I believe the term is "ground coffee" as in you used coffee grounds. It is just a weird way of referring to the beans after they have been ground in the coffee grinder. "Grounded" is usually an electrical term. Here in the states there is a green wire that is the "ground" wire that is attached to most electrical devices. As well as in the electrical system of structures.

English is such a fickle language.
 
Those are cool, though it would be nice if they were a lot less expensive.

Something some of you other coffee drinkers may like is the AeroPress. It makes basically espresso but technically "coffee concentrate" because to be considered espresso it has to have a certain even amount of pressure and the pressure you add on the AeroPress will fluctuate slightly depending on the person. The coffee it makes tastes much better though and works wonderful for if you want a coffee drink that requires espresso like a cappuccino, latte, or frappuccino or if you want a regular cup of coffee once you brew it you add more hot water and it will be a Caffè Americano.
