It seems like Coldplay has become the "Barry Manilow" of contemporary music. They sell huge numbers of cd's and seats at concerts, but no one is willing to admit that they like them.
Being 43 and not into newer stuff, I just discovered them when Viva La Vida (or whatever) came out. Since then, I've got all their cd's and love them.
Yeah, they seem to be a U2 clone. Some say Radiohead, but I don't know their music. But I think they have a great sound. So do a lot of people, but apparently not many people will fess up.
