college insanity

what is more insane about college, in everyone's opinions..

the work load, OR the people who treat you like garbage? or both? i for one was hoping it would be different in college...that people wouldn't treat you like trash as much as in high school..but it's really not much different...

The people that treat you like trash.

That happens everywhere, though. Colleges is just more so, since it's mostly self-absorbed 20-something types. Naturally, they'll be treating you that way. If they acknowledge you at all.

The workload at college doesn't seem to bother me much. I am able to set aside a lot of time for school work and the work never builds up. I find the attitude of people at college insane.

It's almost laughable that some professors stand in front of the classroom and completely trash students. Many college staff members clearly act like they don't want to be working and talk down to students. Like Sound Silence said, College is full of self-absorbed 20 somethings. Some college students seem to think that they simply know everything and have no responsibilities. Although I myself am a college student, I can't help but to look shamefully upon the way some of my fellow students act.

i have seen that when i went to college at the age of 28. i hopefully didnt come across that way.

I haven't been to college yet, but from what I heard the work load isn't too bad, and it's much more the people treating you like trash, especially if you're a Christian.

i guess the fact that i'm double majoring makes the work load heavier than it normally would be? i'm not sure?

it's much more the people treating you like trash, especially if you're a Christian.

this is actually interesting because, where I go to school, you get treated like trash if you're NOT a christian (and no it's not a religious university--it's just in an area where there's lots of sway from the local churches)

that's interesting :chin

ok. i didn't understand, since 'interesting' is a vague adjective; although i used it myself in one of my prior posts, and use it all the time in every day speech. :lol

not really. actually, i'm being insulted right now for not ascribing to christian beliefs (not by anyone on this forum, mind you! :lol )

I suppose it all depends from one school and region to the other.

My school gives out free condoms, so you can probably tell how conservative things are around here.

People, I think, treat one another like trash at all ages. But it is one of the most memorable things for me for both my high school and short time in college. Nonetheless, hope to one day finish my college education.

I think my university and college experiences have been rather pleasant. Is this mean-ness a USA thing? Maybe like that one movie, Mean Girls?

The U.S. is not the only country with rude people. Think we all know that.

i think it's useful to remember that the movie Mean Girls was just that, a movie, and most of the people who are mean to me are guys actually :gah
