I have a 1 year old laptop ?. I tried to use it today and it wanted a recovery key? And my Microsoft account doesn’t seem to have one? No other start up options worked at all.

Help?!? Please?!?!

I had a laptop with msoft..... it was terrible. msoft wants to control everything, and continued to seek to get more control.

Try taking the battery out for a few seconds.
That works for my laptop, when it quits on me.

You didn't mention if you are running Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11.

I have a Windows 7 and a Windows 10 laptop and have never been asked for a recovery key.
