I have actually been giving this a lot of thought since I last participated in this thread. What does it mean for God the Son to set aside equality with the Father and become “incarnate”? To actually lay aside “equality with God”. We KNOW that Jesus did not employ all of His OMNI- attributes while he lived as a man on Earth. For one thing, He feared and He hurt and He died.
Let me break this down for us then, and face up to the examples you have brought.
Did Jesus die as a man dies, or when Jesus died, it was not possible for Him to be held in death ?
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
Acts 2:24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not
possible that he should be
holden of it.
OK that is an easy one to know, the Son of God does not die like other men die, because unlike men, who are death, Christ is life.
The next question is the fear Christ had, was that like a normal man has fears, or this was for a purpose also ? ( the same as dying was for a purpose, to reveal He is eternal life for us to no longer believe in men who are death, but in God who came to earth to show us how to believe in Him, who is life, and this world and death cant prevail against Him as He overcame them to show us how to overcome even as He also overcame.)
That gave us a big clue, that God cant do things. like a natural man, as being the Spirit, is not being a natural an, and those born of he Spirit are not natural man either.
Look with me in Hebrews 5, the Son does not glorify Himself ( which means God does not assume anything, God goes through the process for righteousness.)
Christ becomes the begotten of the dead, the day of being begotten from the dead. ( after the third day risen.)
That is when Christ becomes our High Priest, which is as told in Hebrews 7, the word of the oath ( the word of eternal life, since the law. Psalm 133. ) when the Son is consecrated for ever more.
Fulfilling the word of Him being a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec, which is SWORN BY GOD, who makes it certain.
Christ then we understand, is already life, and in order for this to be established on earth, we witness Christ in His flesh, with strong tears, making supplications to the Father able to save from death. ( Christ learns obedience by what He suffered, to BECOME THE AUTHOR OF ETERNAL SALVATION UNTO ALL THOSE THAT OBEY HIM.)
If your ears are not dull, then hear with me the purpose of God, was not for Christ to fear so He cannot do the purpose of God, which is to be who He already is, it is to show to us all that Christ overcomes, for us to overcome, it is believing in perfection on earth, which we see Christ was made on earth, who was already the High Priest after the order of Melchisedec, and revealed how we can believe in this.
Psalm 110:4 The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a
priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
Psalm 133:3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the
blessing, even
life for evermore.
Hebrews 5:5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
6 As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.
11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.
Hebrews 7:28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is
consecrated for evermore.
Remember, ( anyone reading with me on this blasphemous forum.) how the Son did not glorify Himself.
Christ shows this in John 12, how the HOUR HAD COME THAT THE SON OF MAN SHOULD BE GLORIFIED.
Jesus showed that, unless He, that corn of wheat falls into the ground and died, He, the corn would remain alone, but if it die, Jesus Christ, that corn of wheat, it, He, brings forth much fruit.
Jesus also shows that He does not love HIs life in this world but hates it, that is how any man will keep their life unto life eternal. ( Jesus Christ is the life and light of men, who cant be as darkness which is what all men are.)
Now the soul of Christ was troubled, and in the same moment Christ says save from this hour, He says for US TO KNOW......, FOR THIS CAUSE HE CAME UNTO THAT HOUR.
Jesus glorifies the Father through this, which casts the prince of this world out, because the voice of God came for our sakes in this moment, it was the judgement of this world. ( Jesus shows He is being lifted up, back to heaven, to lift all men up to Him.
Matthew 26, shows to us the same way, how Jesus has sorrow unto death, and prays for the cup to pass, but in the same moment, shows it is NOT AS HE WILLS. ( Jesus prays to show us the fear He faces up to, and casts out.)
Matthew 26:38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
John 1:4 In him was life; and the
life was the light of men.
John 12:23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
27 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.
28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.
30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.
31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
Speaking of the fear that people think Christ had. ( also thinking Christ has desires, and that Christ can sin.)
God, ( Jesus Christ unknown to those who deny Him, the antichrist spirit in all the world.) is love, and love is perfect. ( Jesus Christ was heard in that He feared, and being made perfect He became the author of eternal salvation unto all those that obey Him, as He shows He is consecrated for ever more.)
Our love is made perfect, ( as we believe in Jesus Christ being made perfect to show us He is the author of eternal salvation unto all those that obey Him.) when God dwells in us we dwell in love, and dwell in God, and there is NO FEAR IN LOVE, BUT PERFECT LOVE CASTS OUT FEAR, HE THAT FEARS IS NOT MADE PERFECT IN LOVE.
1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love
