Hey all.
I'm going for the first time tomorrow to my meet with my new Councelor.
I need therapy for trauma, and I'm starting to get nervous. My thoughts are:

Can I trust them?
Should I really face this now?
I need help!

Please pray that if this is the right councelor that I would have God's peace about it. It is with a Christian organization...

I'll pray. Thank goodness its with a Christian organization (!!!). I've had my fair of bad counselors. My current counselor is a solid Born Again Christian, and he's the only truly helpful one I've had.

Ramble ramble...praying for you. :-)
 
Dear Sister Angel, quit looking at you, and know that it is God Who goes before you. I like the way the NIV reads on this following verse.
Deut 31:8 NIV The LORD Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

I went to counseling once, but it was a long time ago and I was in 1st grade at the time, so I don't remember much. (And since I was a kid and all there was a bunch of toys I could play with while being asked questions, so it's quite different than going to counseling as an adult I'm sure.) Hope it goes well for you.
 
Hey, Angel...

Counseling can be kind of...strange. I mean, there are good counselors and bad counselors. I've had my fair share of bad ones, which is why I prayed a lot for you...nothing worse than a counselor with an ax to grind, labeling you and such.

I don't know if you're in the market for a counselor or what, but...I"m glad you're letting The Lord guide your steps.
 
Matt and I took the bus to the church where the counceling service was located. It was in a rural place, it was closed, and the bus stop didn't feel right to me.
