Course of miracle's

A book the combines Eastern Religion with Western psychology. Sounds extremely boring.

Other Christian critics say that ACIM is "intensely anti-Biblical" and incompatible with Christianity, blurring the distinction between creator and created and forcefully supporting the occult and New Age world view

My standards are pretty high when it comes to entertainment, and this just does not look like something I would be able to read through with any interest.

Yeah same here. Only reason I ask was to hopefully get inputs on people who read it. I had a friend last year who read it as if it were a Bible. It did help him immensely and I believe it put his faith on solid ground. There is another lady who had her life change through it and I just love her.

Most of faith downgrade this book but, if Jesus spoke through her to make this study guide then I have no room to question.
 
I know of a person at work that read this. its gnostic in origin if I recall it right

Well, It's claimed that it was an angel of the lord who spoke and bam, we have the Mormon Church.

How many times have you read through the Bible?

Well I was raised Christian and I have read old testament more times then I could remember. I have read new once fully but, didn't absorb anything. This was a span of about 4 years. Then I put the good book down for a long, long... Time.

Why do you ask?

I hold no book over the word.

I understood when I read the OP that you weren't promoting this, JoJoe .

I see courses like the one about miracles, as well as paying big bucks to become a prophet in training, to be scams. If one takes the course and results aren't had, then it's suggested that one didn't have enough faith. Or perhaps one didn't have an actual 'calling' to perform miracles or to prophesize.

Heheh, yeah just putting it out there. I made a diet thread that kinda went in a totally different direction. Anyways...

From what was read to me it wasn't about performing but, more of a Jesus like perspective. Even if it may be false witnessing it took two worldly people and let them recognize there spirit. Guess it's safe to assume no one has taken the course on this board.

i have a friend who teaches from that. so is jesus a mere conscience? that didn't make the bodies of adam and eve? that is what that teaches. oh the debate with him on this. in fact today i saw him. he is a chaplain with the church that teaches from this book. they deny the diety of the son as we teach, sin, and that jesus is the ONLY way.
so why on earth based on his teachings to me and discussions and also some reading do i want to support that book?

That's the thing... I am trying to understand what my brother is going through. Also the reason I never took it seriously because even though I was born at night, it wasn't last night.

Well, that's good. I am not putting down the book, but it's fiction. It would have to be truth to help anyone. Not my words, Jesus said that.

just because a person changes doesn't mean satan isn't the one doing that. feelings and closeness to god these days doesn't mean that is at should be at times.
