Criss Angel

What about Criss Angel? Have you seen him? Is he simply a great magician or.....?

Something is not right there and I wonder how others feel about him.

I've watched him before and I suppose he's better than David Blane. I'm not a fan of his show because I don't support celebrities that I learn are into new age religions.

Those illusions you see on TV can all be explained and the audience is in on the act. There is a show called "Magic's Biggest Secretes Finally Revealed" that explain how those tricks are done.

Criss Angel is simply a great magician. Period. And when I say "magician," I mean "illusionist." I actually saw the guy perform live in Las Vegas this past April. He is very talented with slight of hand, misdircection and other typical magician tricks to make it look as though he is able to defy the laws of nature. Still, he's a stage performer who is doing a lot of tricks that other magicians could easily pull off as well.

While I don't know about his personal life or if he's a Christian or not, I can tell you for certain that he doesn't have any special powers that allow him to actually levetate, teleport, or whatelse have you.

I'm not a "fan" nor do I support him but....I do wonder.

I can understand "magic, tricks, illusions and slight of hand," especially in a controlled environment, smoke and mirrors, darkness, lighting...on the stage. I don't question those tricks..it is the ones he performs outside with no apparent trickery involved. Such as his levitating on the top of the building in Vegas. Such as his levitating in an open field on a golf course (over the tops of trees), such as his walking on water, a large body of water.

There is something very unsettling about him. Way past the, "oh my gosh, did you see that?"

I say this with all due respect to you when I say that you're looking too hard at this guy and his act. Just because you don't see the strings/mirrors/hidden platforms/etc. doesn't mean they aren't there. And the fact that you DON'T see them just re-enforces (did I spell that right?) the claim that he's a very good illisionist.

Back in the 80's, I once saw a television special where a magician named David Copperfield "levetated" over the Grand Canyon. Its all a trick. Even the stuff that he pulls off live in front of crowds on the Las Vegas strip. There is nothing legitimately "powerful" or "supernatural" about him. He's a mortal man like you and me. With enough practice and time, you could pull off the same stunts.

Now, someone earlier in this thread claimed that Angel is a believer in New Age religions. If that's true, then I'm very sorry for him and I hope that he comes to repent of that and find Jesus Christ before its too late. But that still doesn't give the guy supernatural powers. There is a LOGICAL and NATURAL explanation for everything he does. Garunteed.

The TV show I mentioned in my first reply explains how all those work. The crowds are in on all those acts and the camera angles are very carefully controlled.

Here is one for you. The man is quite real and the area is an open mall, not a controlled crowd at all.
