Cyanide poisoning

Riddle 1
A man applied a chemical containing cyanide (very poisonous mixture) round his garden. He intended to kill all rodents that eat his plants.

After the process he went home, and straight to the tap, and ran the tap (turn on his tap). His detergent was already at the base of the pomp station. He thoroughly washed his hands, 15 times. Then he wiped his hands with a clean towel and turned off the tap. He enetered his house.

The following day the man was found dead. Autopsy revealed 'cyanide traces in his body'.

This is just a riddle. But how did this man die, how did he contact the poison. Sharp brians answer:lol(Pls MODs move to the right forum.)

He recontaminated his hands when he turned off the tap. ;)

Always cover your hands with a towel when turning of the tap after washing.

I'm tied between that and some method of the cyanide entering the water table (assuming he had well water) and entering his body through the multiple hand washings... but unless it was pouring rain it's unlikely to be absorbed so fast.

A third possibility is that the guy ate food from his garden that was treated with cyanide at some point.

I don't think he would have gotten it on his hands in the first place. Maybe there were fumes inhaled. Moral: research before you do something stupid.

He wasn't found dead with one of his garden vegetables half eaten (maybe still in his mouth yet), was he? :lol

P.S> I bet they found the cat dead, too.

The reason he died was that he quit breathing. How was cyanide found in his body? He ate the crops he was attempting to protect, and many fruits and vegetables contain trace amounts of it.

:chin really? He died within 24hrs ;)
I didn't say he wasn't eating veggies prior to that. I would think we all would have cyanide found in us; it's supposedly good for the heart in small enough amounts. Give me some more pitted fruit.

Okay now. The man's garden was evidently not at his home ("After the process he went home") though it is irrelevant. The problem is with the tap handle retaining the poison from the time he turned it on. Regardless of how many times he washed his hands the handle retained the poison; I don't think he used the clean towel to turn the tap off. The poison on the tap handle contaminated his hands once again.
