We are His vessels, designed to do the Works of God. We have the power of the Spirit at work in us!

There's a saying, :Grow where your planted."

What are your gifts? What are your desires? Your desiers are likely your gifts and they point to areas where you and I can serve in the name of Christ.

13 For it is [not your strength, but it is] God supports the believer, but it is the believer’s responsibility to do what he has been called by God to do.God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure. I believe our call is to serve one another in love. There are so many opportunities for service before us! Mine at the moment is to love my wife (we're both retired) and to serve her as Christ served us! Loving and serving my wife is my service to God (as well as taking care of the home - God's home).

Sweeping a floor can be a service to God. I love to clean (an odd thing but I do). I am gifted with music and for all my life I have worked with children. I've led worship and worked with youth groups. I worked 28 years as an elementary teacher. I taught art the last 18 years and incorporated music (playing my guitar and singing songs) and telling stories as well as teaching visual arts.

Now I am retired and those opportunities are mostly gone. But before me are new challenges! I'm praying God will show me new areas of service (I still play in the Church band - bass).

Find your nitch. Be a vessel for God and serve one another in love! There is nothing more rewarding in life than to love and serve others. God pours blessings upon blessings! May you find your area(s) of service and may God give you the heart to serve Him!

A comment on Love from page 1.
If we are the Body of Christ and we dislike our brother, it's like disliking ourselves since we are all one.

Just as the Holy Spirit comes from the Father and the Son, so should we all come from the Body of Christ to love one another.
John 13:35

"By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

amen to that! This is the theme that the HS has been teaching me lately. My daily devotions are on this very theme. Thanks for sharing and do share more!
 
Alright this verse was given to me by a fellow Harry Potter fan and I just had to share it because I am just sick and tired of everybody on here judging me. As you can tell by my signature, God's opinion of me is the only one that really matters so. You'll find this in Romans chapter fourteen verse thirteen; "Let us not therefore judge one another anymore: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block on occasion to fall in his brother's way."

Amen! I love the word abide. I have a devotional app and it's name is Abide.
 
Good morning Papa. Here it is 4:10 am. I rose at 1:30 am this morning to fellowship with Abba Father, Yahshua Jesus, and the Ruah ha'Qodesh,(Holy Spirit).... NOTE: These are ancient Paleo Hebrew names for our Godhead from my Hebrew teachings. I hope you don't mind my introduction of these ancient Hebrew words and names that God gave to Moses at Mt. Sinai.

Matthew "3:1 In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea,
Mat 3:2 "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
Mat 3:3 For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah when he said, "The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the Lord; make his paths straight.'"
Mat 3:4 Now John wore a garment of camel's hair and a leather belt around his waist, and his food was locusts and wild honey.

The Baptism of Jesus

So many Christians don't really know what Baptism is all about. Most believe that it's a right of passage into a local Church. It, Baptism, is much more than that. Baptism is a "self surrender" Here is a short statement by Theologian Dr. George H. Morrison....
Clearer Vision Followed Full Surrender
First, then, it issued in a clearer vision, for we read that the heavens were opened unto Him. That does not point to a material sky, but to a vision breaking on His soul. When Peter was praying on the housetop, he, too, saw the heavens opened. In that great moment there was revealed to him the spiritual equality of Jew and Gentile. So our Lord, when the heavens were opened to Him, won a larger and a clearer vision, and won it because in full surrender He had dedicated Himself to God. That always follows personal dedication. To see, we must surrender. It is when we give ourselves with our whole heart to anything that it breaks out into a wealth of meaning. It is when we give ourselves with our whole heart to God that, like our Lord, we see the heavens opened, and new vision dawns upon the soul.

Baptism = full surrender to the perfect will of our Master Jesus Christ. Jesus surendered to the eventual death on the cross for the forgiveness of man's sins. It was surrender to man's spiritual needs. Shortly after my Baptism, I knew I must abandon my life in surrender to Jesus' call as His Shepherd to guide His sheep to greener pastures.

A great verse that says it all. I love to quote it this way sometimes: In the beginning, God. God was there "in the beginning." As a little kid I was amazed at the fact that God existed and how lucky we were that He does. I'm still amazed. And still feel blessed.

Thanks for that Chopper! You're an early bird. Is that a regular thing? You must go to bed very early.

Recently I started just waking up at 6am. I used to sleep much longer but I even wake up at 5. I felt the call to restart my early morning devotions. So I did. Now I look forward to meeting with the Lord each day.

I have an app that is about a 15 minute devotion. I do some reading in the Bible. I have other devotional tools. And then I read this thread because what people share is part of my morning devotions~! (as is my sharing of insights from mine)

What you've posted is exactly in tune with what I am studying! Surrender is a struggle at times. But yielding to the Spirit brings HIS power in our lives and then watch out. The power of God at work in the life of a believer cannot be matched by any human effort. I pray that God will continue His work in all of us.

While attending our Wednesday Lenten service yesterday evening this verse was highlighted and I thought it was good.

"I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it abundantly." - The Christ, Jesus. John 10:9 NKJV

Strange how Jesus had to die so that we may have life. I was asked if I would sing for one of our services and after thinking about the above verse I chose the following song, written by a 16-year old William R. Featherston in 1864.

My Jesus, I love Thee, I know Thou art mine;
For Thee all the follies of sin I resign;
My gracious Redeemer, my Savior art Thou;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

I love Thee because Thou hast first loved me,
And purchased my pardon on Calvary’s tree;

Deuteronomy 28:13 And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

This verse has great significance to me personnaly as this verse is what drew me back to God many years ago as I was on a downhill slide ready to crash. It made me know I was important to God and that He does love me. I just wasn't being obedient to His commands at that time.
