While we were getting the gardens ready for spring, I discovered squatters had moved into Mrs. B.'s craft shed:

Brought her kid, too...

"How long is this going to take?" she asked.

"You don't want to know."

Mourning doves. Pigeons would have been evicted by now.

Last summer, a dove showed up in the back yard, seemingly unwilling or unable to fly. It found a shady spot, and I put out food and water for it. One day, it was gone. I wonder if this is it.
Sounds like a good movie!

And call the dove dumb....the nest was half made!
Maybe one day it'll save your life?
:lol

Now, there's two eggs. And Mrs. Barbarian thought she'd just redecorate the nursery, while Gwen was off on a break...

She seems pleased.
I'm surprised she stuck around.
I try to stay away from nests in my garden because the motherbird will get scared and disappear.
There was a nest once under my patio covering. I had to wait till the birds flew away to get it ready for summer.

I'm surprised she stuck around.
She seems pretty chill around us. I was repairing the steps to the shed, and she didn't seem to mind. As long as I don't stare at her, or move too quickly, she seems O.K. with it. Maybe she is the same dove from last summer, and got to be a little more comfortable around me.

I'm told that I get along better with animals than I do with people. Maybe so. I don't see that as a bad thing.
