Sounds like a good movie!Mourning doves. Pigeons would have been evicted by now.
Last summer, a dove showed up in the back yard, seemingly unwilling or unable to fly. It found a shady spot, and I put out food and water for it. One day, it was gone. I wonder if this is it.
I'm surprised she stuck around. Now, there's two eggs. And Mrs. Barbarian thought she'd just redecorate the nursery, while Gwen was off on a break...

She seems pleased.
She seems pretty chill around us. I was repairing the steps to the shed, and she didn't seem to mind. As long as I don't stare at her, or move too quickly, she seems O.K. with it. Maybe she is the same dove from last summer, and got to be a little more comfortable around me.I'm surprised she stuck around.
Animals don't have strong opinions.I'm told that I get along better with animals than I do with people. Maybe so. I don't see that as a bad thing.
or a Main CoonYou've never had had a basset hound?
?With a mix of pride and sadness...

This morning as I checked my garden, two doves flew up and away from the yard. Nice work, Gwen.
