Verna's son, David, had to have a 2nd back surgery. The first was on the other side of the back. I didn't know this, but Verna says that this often happens...one side is operated on, then an operation is needed for the other side. How terrible.

The operation took place a couple days ago. David is still in the hospital, awaiting discharge. He's in intense pain. Verna is concerned about his job. He needs a good bit of time off, and the place he works has told him they cannot guarantee that they'll keep him on. He's worked there for quite a while, and he's an excellent employee. I guess that's corporate america for you...

Yep, that bad back is terrible.
