DeeLoves2Write's poetry thread

Hi dear Sister Dee, the following is a sample of my efforts I used to enjoy.
Your poetry seems to flow
A gift I certainly don't possess
Hard of effort, coming slow
An art enjoyed nevertheless.

How do I please God, please let all know
Is it grace alone glorifying our soul
Works of righteous He will do
In those of us that allow Him to

How am I saved I might ask
Was Your blood the only task
Can't I take credit, is there no other way
By grace alone I come today

Thank You Father, You gave Your all
In Jesus our Savior we've obeyed Your call
Is there anything else we’re told to do
In choosing Jesus we chose You

Here's one free-verse poem I penned at the very beginning of my journey after coming back to Christ:

“Miracle”

You have brought joy to my heart
And peace to my spirit
You have created a miracle
A heart, once cold and unyielding
Has become warm and responsive to You
You have shown grace and mercy
To one who is so undeserving
It is a mystery
That cannot be explained in mere words
But through the eyes of faith
It is accepted and understood
And the mind and heart
Abide with You
In the peaceful, settled rest
That only You can give
To a broken, repentant sinner You call Your own
Now and forever.

Another free-verse poem:

“The Majestic One Reigns”

We humbly bow before Him
Sons and daughters, children of heaven
His redeemed, precious jewels
The Majestic One Reigns Gently
He cradles His fragile creation
With His mighty, outstretched hand
His praises ring across the heavens
Such awesome, indescribable beauty
His endless power and knowledge
Far eclipse all mere mortal governances
We sing His praises
His goodness, grace, and mercy
Flow from above, poured into us
His light and glory shine
Dispelling darkness and evil
Our hearts know Him
Eternally His family I
n Him, our Hope and Joy
We await His return A
t the trump's beckoning
He will call us Home
Perfect and complete
Returned to Him, His Bride
Destiny fulfilled
And our Song forever

“As God Has Loved You”

To have a friend, first you must be a friend
To choose to put your preconceptions aside
To show another how much you value them
To be sensitive to the hurts they carry inside

As God has loved you; so must you also love
As He has forgiven you; so must you also do
In this, you are pleasing to your Father above
In this, you have peace in heart and mind too

Ephesians 4:32 (NASB)
Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

“Time of Reckoning”

We can't know the day nor hour Christ comes
But we can clearly see that we're in the season
Lofty falsehoods have undermined God's Truth
Feelings are valued above thinking and reason

Just as the world was back in the days of Noah
Is precisely how the world is carrying on today
While God's Holy Name is being blasphemed
Each person blindly goes his or her own way

Jesus Christ gave His life as a ransom for sin
He came to seek and save that which was lost
God's mercy was demonstrated to fallen man
As God's Son was sacrificed upon the Cross

His salvation is a free gift that He offers to all
Eternal Life in Him for those willing to receive
A miracle He wroughts within the human heart
He opens the mind to understand and believe

This is an urgent message for those who doubt
Please seriously consider what's being said here
Or you'll have forever to regret you were wrong
Don't wait; the time of reckoning is drawing near

Matthew 24:37-39 (NASB)
37 For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah.
38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,
39 and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.

Isaiah 53:5-6 (NASB)
5 But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.
6 All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him.
