Despite obesity rise, kids' blood pressure dipped

In spite of kids all getting fatter to the disgust of Michelle Obama, doctors are finding that their blood pressures are actually better than back in the 70's. The question in the article was asked,

So why didn't blood pressure rise along with kids' weight?

I'll answer that. Because it goes to show that the one-shoe-size-fits-all (junk) science mentality they cram down our throats does not work. Fat does not always equal unhealthy. Fat does not necessarily mean higher blood pressure as is commonly believed. Saturated fats don't necessarily mean more heart disease. With that being said, here's the article:

im overwieght and yet im healthy. my bp is low.

Exactly. It is possible to be overweight and healthy. And it's possible to be skinny and sickly. While I'll admit kids are getting fatter, there's a certain discrimination going on here that for a supposedly educated and enlightened society that frowns on discrimination they are sure fast enough to discriminate in this fashion.

In addition, while the "ban all junk food" mantra sounds good on the surface, I am not sure this generation of lawmakers even know what is healthy. They would rather ban a juicy burger or butter and just as quickly replace it with something processed such as tofu or margarine. To put it in an analogous manner, they're taking away the dangerous knives from the kids and replacing them with guns so-to-speak. (And some of the so-called dangerous knives are made of safe rubber :lol) If the government and medical, etc organizations want to mandate "safer" foods and take the joy out of living, then at least get their facts straight and replace the stuff with something healthy. Not what they think is healthy. That's what irritates me the most.

balence the key and that i think with bp is genetic. my mom is 35 lbs underweight and higher bp then me and has been told TO GAIN WEIGHT.
