This is what Jesus did, he didn't have to do it for us, but he loved us so much he was willing to die for us. we were wrong, he was free from sin, yet he paid the price for us! He set us free and went through enormous pain just for us, for You!
Try to imagine how silly this story looks. Some authority would kill an innocent and let a guilty man go?
The Jesus sacrifice makes no sense:
1) There was no sacrifice. Jesus was back after 3 days. So it would be equivalent to someone who was knocked out for 3 days.
have you ever watched passion of the Christ?
2) How does spending a short time in hell make up for the infinite amount of time that someone else has to pay?
Again, watch passion of the Christ
3) Why didn't God just let Jesus die of old age for his resurrection? Why did it have to be a violent death?
Otherwise we would have had to go through enormous torture ourselves, again, watch passion of the Christ
4) Since Yaweh was against human sacrafice, He would not have accepted such an offering. Even if He would have, it would have to be done by a Levitical priest and Jesus was not one. (The way the Bible tries to get around it is by saying Jesus was like a previous king that could do priest functions. However, God made a law after that to make such a thing illegal.)
6) If God is all powerful, He could have just snapped His fingers instead of involve some ritualistic sacrifice.
It is to see who will believe in Jesus and who won't....
7) Makes no sense that Jesus did not die for the nonbelievers. Since that made up most of the world before Christianity and for a long time, much of the world after.
It is written that no one goes to the father but by Jesus!
8) It is not a gift if you have to do something for it.
Shame quath! you really don't see that it is a gift...
here's a little something: if your child wants to touch a hot stove, will you not say no son, do not touch that, it is for your own protection!
same goes for the law, it is made to protect us, it is for man, not for God.. he does it that we may have a properous life, whether we choose to follow it, it is our choice!!!!! ANd the joy we have in Christ just makes us naturally want that!
