Did God make women special?

Erudite Christian woman - proficient. Magnificent reply.

So what are the private roles???
Not everyone is supposed to be married. There are those who are single and serve God very well. It is according to what He anoints you to do. If you are single and have God's anointing then you have a special calling all your own.

Chivalery is dead. Put the lid on its coffin, burry it and let it rot.
LOL! The former man in me is laughing, the father in me wants my daughters treated like princesses, but really, I just want them to be respected.

... A Godly marriage can't be penetrated by evil and is one of the most powerful forces on earth. Are woman more special than men? I don't think so, but we do have a different role than men.

Amen about marriage! I also agree one isn't any more special than the other. I think we process things differently and have unique strengths and weaknesses that compliment each other.

LOL. I'm I male or female? Whatever. Hehe!

Really there is usually a preferential treatment for women.
Ladies first
Weaker sex? Dunno
Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers. 1 Peter 3:7 NIV

God is crystal clear husbands...If you do not treat your wife right, your prayers are not heard.

I didn't know this verse ever existed....especially 'bout the "weaker partner" thing. Claudya would truncated that part ;)

Everyone is special but remember who got us into this mess in the first place (maybe that does make women special).

Sounds interesting. Would appreciate it if you could kinda elaborate....
both adam and eve sinned. eve first in that she was deceived, and adam wasn't. that is why adam is blamed most of the time. remember this from a jewish view of male authority where man is the head and the guide. adam failed to teach eve the torah of god.to wit they mustn't eat the forbidden fruit. she didn't listen and he went along too.

So if we take that story for literal history - does one deed of one individual represent the entire gender? Because that would be weird.

gee I guess sin isn't literal either. adam being the representive the man. is responsible of the death that we all must face. if death wasn't by his actions then why are we even believing that we will be raised as god planned that and that was never to be changed?

if adam obeyed and eve. would they still die? no they wouldn't.

Sorry, I was trying to be funny with my earlier comment. Women are special, women are awesome. No way we could survive without them. Praise God for the the women in our lives!

Oh, okay, I didn't get that. :oops2 Oops.

You wouldn't guess how many men *seriously* argue that men need to be leaders over women because it was a woman that took the forbidden fruit.

Well not all women are awesome, just like not all men are. And being a woman doesn't feel special. We're just normal human beings. Although some of us are awesome.... and so are some men. :wink

If the story of Adam and Eve is literal history, then Adam and Eve were actual humans, not representatives of either sex. No single human being can represent all of humanity, or all of their gender.
If Adam and Eve are metaphorical first humans, then they can be archetypical representatives of their sex. But then they aren't real humans any longer, and Genesis is no longer a literal report.

How do you know that? Sounds like a lot of speculation.

jesus would have gotten sick. jesus wouldn't have to even take our place another man or woman who had the ability to say no to sin simply could have. unless your are going argue that man was made by god to steal, lie, cheat, rape and murder. its a choice, we have the choice to sin, we can turn to god. but if your position iss correct then and if males are equal in aspects then why is it a sin to you if I get sex change to have baby. what is difference if I male by creation or by my modification or a female? the last enemy to be defeated is death. death isn't just the eternal hell or heaven deal its also this body. our bodies will be raised in a new form. there will be then no more death. the sun and moon wont be destroyed . that is in the last book. and its in isiah. the parts where it mentioning the sun being no more isn't a literal rendering but in reference to how we marked days of worship.

We have been praying a lot lately and my wife reminded me of this. I never thought about it much before but how I treat her has a huge impact on the type of man my daughters marry, assuming they marry. My daughter is old enough now that she gives me some helpful tips too.
