Did you ever have an atheistic or agnostic phase?

The definition of atheist is someone who doesn't believe in God
There is an atheist forum which I sometimes visit to see what they're talking about
They openly deny God and make fun of religion

There is a poll on there asking if they believe in God, well over 80% voted for no

If God does not exist then nothing matters and all rules and morals no laws everyone can be as feral and animal as they want it don't matter because we are all just pieces of scum evolved to a higher order and there is no authority over anyone or anything.

Yet most people who so called deny God still vote and believe in rules and what is wrong and right in there world view.

It's hypocritical.

Maybe you should talk directly to them about these matters on this forum
Maybe you will have better luck in understanding their views

Of course they are going to make fun of God and maybe try deny God because they are skeptics, but they are still curious. There are many people who have tried denied God only to come to the truth.
When I left the church those number of years ago, I wasn't just a skeptic. I truly no longer believed in God. Actually, I not only didn't believe in "the God," I didn't believe in "a god." It was only after being reintroduced to God that things began to change.

This is true but even nonbelievers have ideas about what is evil in their own minds. They have memories and know what hurts and to them those things that cause hurt are undesirable and evil.

I turned my back on God at age 17. I was angry with Him but I never stopped believing in Him.

I was abused by my stepfather from age five to age fourteen. As a family we attended church every Sunday.

At age 17, having not been in that environment for roughly three years, I became angry with God for not protecting me, as I saw it. I came back to God in my late forties.

Really? That's awful! :crying At least you found your way back to Him though. :)

There was a time I ignored God for sure. But I think deep down I knew He existed. It was a time of self delusion. I was pretending there wasnt a war going in inside. Despite my level of sinfulness and pride. I took and still do take advantage of His mercy.

I was raised in the church, so no. I have had doubts like any other person but I've never been close to saying there is no God.
