I am currently in the middke of a discussion on the above forum They have set replies but none of them have supplied bible verses about the matter is tehre any bible verses? what does the bible say? how does it contrast to what is said on this forum?

The entire problem is that people suppose that infants will have to either go to heaven or hell when they die. This is a false premise to begin with and that is why there is so much confusion concerning this matter.

The Bible says everyone dies and will be dead. It never discusses anyone going to HELL when they die. It does discuss HELL (Gehenna) on Judgment day. Before this, you will find absolutely nothing on ANYONE going to hell when they die.

The Bible also consistently says everyone will be raised from the dead in judgment to be judged by deeds without any partiality or favoritism. Jesus was the firstBORN out of the dead. This resurrection will be a new birth event for all people to stand before God in judgment.

How do you think God will judge those innocent little ones when he judges everyone by works on that day?

Not really a great answer, but I don't think babies go to hell either. I haven't seen any biblical evidence that they do or don't. It doesn't make any sense at all to send them to hell as far as I can see. Adam's son and I disagree about a few things, but we have already discussed it and there is no point continuing that arguement, especially here.

Jesus says, "The servant who knows his master's will and does not get ready or do what his master wants will be beaten with severe blows. But the servant who does not know his master's will and does not get ready will be beaten with few blows." Jesus has made it clear that no one can enter heaven unless he is born again of the spirit, REGARDLESS of whether or not they heard the word of God or not. God will NOT destroy babies whom he hasn't called. Only he knows what their lives would be like if they were allowed to live. So we CANNOT say he isn't fair or just.

God will NOT destroy babies whom he hasn't called.

The problem is, we don't know if God has called all infants. God knew that they wouldn't live long a little more than how they would have behaved. This is what leads me to believe that all infants and unborn go to heaven. It would be a great reward to be able to avoid this earth as much as possible. This earth is nothing compared to heaven.
Honestly I don't think we can know 100% it isn't really addressed with certainty in scripture.

Do babies go to heaven?

Here is my take – I admit it is a rough one for two reasons: First – Scriptures don’t come right out and make it easy for you – you gotta’ dig. Second – rough because of my final conclusion, which will cause some here to blow a gasket and strip out your clutch plates.

Let’s go and see what the book says:
We know that because of Adam death is passed upon all men – Rom. 5:11 - so we all know the 2 yr old (Let’s say Jenny) is going to die because of Adam – a given.

But it doesn’t stop there because Eph. 2:1 our 2 yr old who was dead in trespasses and sins: - So, she is in her sins so…if we stopped right now where would Jenny go? She would go to hell like everybody else for we were all born in the same, dead state.

But God is rich in mercy and won’t necessarily leave us there. Let’s go further. Can Jenny, choose to accept Christ? No, she doesn’t understand and she is also “dead†– and according to Rom. 3:1-19 and Matt. 8:22 and II Cor. 4:3 she is blinded and dead to truth so she can’t choose God. So where does that leave us? Three options:

1. Popular view – not accountable so God in grace takes little Jenny home – just not sure – could be a principle here and many hope this is so – though I like it.

2. God, in grace, saves those whom cannot make that choice because of mental illness, sickness, youth, etc. – similar to Take 1 and sounds good and I like this also, but…

3. God chose Jenny from before the foundation of the world (Eph. 1:4) and Jenny is safe because it was according to the good pleasure of God’s will (Eph. 1:5). If she were not chosen she would have gone to hell. In other words all were born to die and then go to a lake of fire because of sin and God chose to save some out of mercy.

Now, here is the crux of the matter. If Jenny went to hell because she was born dead in trespasses in sins and God didn’t save here would God be wrong? Go ahead and tell me God was wrong. Can God sin and do wrong? Here is where some of you have to face something here – regardless of how God worked it out with Jenny (and others) is God still God? I read my Bible and God is perfect, holy, and just and can no nothing other than be perfect, holy, and just because that is His essence.

My take – I subscribe to #3 because dead men can’t choose God. If #1 were right then that discounts the fact that she was dead in trespasses and sins and by not being able to choose anyway wouldn’t make any difference for she was doomed regardless of her choice. The dead in trespasses cancels out her choosing. But if it were # 1 I wouldn’t fall apart I just think there are some “gapsâ€Â.

Now, I told you what I think and believe – I didn’t say you could take that to the bank. I’m still studying and praying about the issue.

Now here is where it gets ugly – some of you have to come to grips that “your choosing God†didn’t save you. Your “belief†in the gospel of I Cor. 15:15 didn’t regenerate you. Do you know what saved you? Christ saved you because of what He did at Calvary. The thinking today is that that “little good spark†in you gets fanned by the gospel and you choose God because of that “spark of good†that is left in you so...You made a choice to get saved. This is where you people who think you can loose it get your bad start. You think because you “chose†God that you can “unchoose†God. You started off wrong so your whole Christian life and securities is based upon your “choosings†in life and have left God’s sovereignty out of it.

So, here is how you get a peace about Jenny’s fate: You have to trust God and live by faith. This is also takes care of, â€ÂWhat about the heathen in Africa?â€Â

Isa 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
Isa 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Our duty is to be a faithful instrument in the hands of God, pray for them give, them the gospel, and leave the results to God who will do right despite us!

God is going to do right because He can’t do wrong – because we many times don’t understand why God does things doesn’t give us the excuse to question God. I know that sounds rough to some of you but you have to start with God’s holiness and your depravity and you will see that you are in a mess with no way out and only then will God show you Christ and his completeness.

I leave you with two Bible descriptions of your state without Christ:

Psa 39:5 Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.

Isa 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Do you know what your left with?

John 15:5…for without me ye can do nothing.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Flee to Christ, flee to Christ, flee to Christ!!!!!!!!!!!!

May God bless

God is merciful and God is agape love. Innocent babies die because they are under the sentence of death passed onto us through Adam. Since God sees beginning to end and if He sees in the future what a baby's life would have been like if he or she had been born and sends the baby to endless torment for this, how can this be agape love? If this is the case, then He purposely creates infants for this endless punishment and they have no ability or opportunity change this outcome.I believe that all babies who die are safe in their Father's arms. All are His offspring. God bless.

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven." â€â€Matthew 19:14

God made a promise to David that all babies would go to Heaven. He made it right after his illegitimate child died. I don't quite remember the scripture passage, but I remember reading about it at church.

No such promise was made. The passage that many people bring up is the following:

"I will go to him, but he will not return to me." - 2 Samuel 12:23

The problem, however, is that there is no mention of the afterlife in that context. They are talking about an infant's death here on earth, so David is referring to how he will eventually meet up with the infant in the grave.

I often find that whenever people ask where babies go when they die, they are often puzzled by the clash of two of God's traits - justice and mercy. God is just, and punishes sin (we are dead in our sins), and God is merciful and shows mercy.

I'm also amazed that many people follow this line of reasoning: God is merciful, therefore his mercy on innocent little babies overrides his desire for justice. Is that true? I doubt it. The cross is God's mercy AND God's justice; one doesn't override the other.

The best answer is this one:

Confusion said:
We trust in the mercy of God.

As a Christian, it's always perfectly fine to say, "I don't have the answer, but I trust that God knows what he's doing."

I don't have time to get into this, but here is a study that may shed some new light on the topic for everyone.

The Salvation of Babies Who Die--Part 1

The Salvation of Babies Who Die--Part 2

A person is sent to hell because they are judged for their deeds. Nobody ever goes to hell because of anothers sin. This sin (deeds) are recorded in the book spoken of in Revelation. All sin is rooted in a willful rejection and rebellion towards God. Until a child (or person) reaches that condition (not age) when they can willfully rebel against God, they are called innocent. The Jews believe it is an age (13 years old) ...Bar mitz va... (son of the Law). God calls children innocent, not knowing their right from their left. It is a difficult topic but the answers are there in scripture, it's just that they are not easily decerned. The studies above helped me to get a better understanding.

God bless

Can you tell me what verse this is? I can't seem to find it... :-?

sending little babies to hell because they were born to become somehing they have no control over? i don't think this is justice.... wouldn't it be better to have not been born

2 Samuel 12:23 But now he is dead, why should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.

Surely David knew about the afterlife... and knew that he would be with his son after death... unless you believe that the word salvation refers to the present day and age of our existance.

Psalms 62:7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Now, I realize that we have an account of John the Baptist being filled with the Holy Spirit while still in the womb... So could it be possible for unborn or newborn babies to be filled with the spirit as well?

Luke 1:15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb.

As a father and a parent it is my responsibility not Gods.

A lot of people will not like this because of irresponsible world that we live in today it's got to be someone elses responsibility.

As a parent you brought the child into the world.

And the word says train up a child in the way that he should go.

And in1Corin..7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.

But if nether parent is saved then the children are going to hell with the parents.

But When we are born into this world the spirt is the same size as the grown up there are no baby spirts in size.

And all spirts are of equal value to God. He sees them all the same.

When Jesus said the kingdom of heaven was made up with the same.
He was speaking of their naive attitude, and sincerity.
Not innocence.

This is a tough question, but let me answer it ot the best of my ability.

When a Bbaby is born, they do not have the intellegence to choose between right or wrong, Jesus or Satan. When they mature, eventually they develop this mindset. Most babies enter thsi stage around two. Once they develop the decision between right or wrong, they will automatically choose wrong (sin.) We are all born into sin, and its automatic for a baby to sin. Once they have sinned, they fall from grace. It is then they go to hell, unless they become saved by asking Jesus into their hearts and believe he died on the cross for our sins. So, before the baby can talk and choose between right and wrong, they are going to heaven if they die.

Does this help?
