Do Not Prostitute Thy Daughters!!

29: Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.

Do you think this is too much?

It’s too bad so many parents these days are willing to indulge their little girls’ pleas to act and dress like stupid spoiled streetwalkers. So sad, but it’s true. Little girls want to be sexy. And, more and more businesses like Ooh! La La! Couture are shamelessly catering to the demise of a girl’s youthful innocence.

Seriously, could anything be more of a giant flashing “Welcome†sign to perverts and pedophiles than a little girl dressed in a fluffy mini skirt and fishnets?

early sexualization of children, will give them warped ideas about relationships, and
what real love is. Keeping sex within the boundaries of marriage, and marriage alone,
will be a difficult moral lesson to teach girls, if the way they dress does not reflect modesty.

The need to conform and compete is now in children as young as 4!

The way people are losing their moral balance is
shocking. Disgusting, too.

This early sexualization could lead to older men marrying children. Like they already do,
in some muslim countries. Like Mohammed did. He married a 7 year old girl. Yes, he did.

Just wrong, in my opinion:

Ah, yes, good old devil’s advocate, planned parenthood, is STILL helping trash children:

You do know that in the context of that scripture, it was aimed at not selling daughters into sex slavery right? Dressing a girl in flashy dresses is not the same as sex slavery.

The way people dress dosen't cause this. This is caused by how a person is raised. A kid is just as happy in sweat pant then they are in a bathing suit. They don't have the hormonal or sexual thinking basis as adults, so they don't compete in the same way you are intending.

The way people are losing their moral balance is
shocking. Disgusting, too.
Because micromanaging people's lives totally worked the millions of times its happened. Especially those incidents in the Massachusetts colonies a few hundred years ago. Even Socrates claimed Morality was decaying. That was over 2,500 years ago. Every generation thinks the next is horrible.

This early sexualization could lead to older men marrying children.
This nation can't even get over the idea that 2 people of the same gender like each other, there is no way we are anywhere near that accepting. Especially since there are psychological reasons why the age of consent is where its at any way.
Like they already do,
in some muslim countries. Like Mohammed did. He married a 7 year old girl. Yes, he did.
Wich is ironic to your statement since the middle east is super social conservative on Islamic law and caused itself to spin into a Dark age since the European Renaissance. Also, Mohamed's marriage was an arranged marriage, witch was also common in Christianity and Judaism.

You are aware that Marrying for love is an American custom and Dowries were in effect in Europe and the Middle east for most of Christianity's History? Also before you spote off about that being nonsense, go Read NUMBERS. The rules on marriage there aren't what we uphold today.

Especially since we don't force rape victims to marry their rapists if they have the money to pay the fine, and we don't sell our daughters off to competing families for supplies and money any more.

Yeah, that's pretty bad, but some parents are obsessed with beauty and popularity and the children here are victims.

Having had to dress my daughter for the past 8 years, I can tell you that overtly sexualized clothing is a real problem. Finally I'm able to find some blouses that reach down to the hips and some pants that are near the waist, but there for a while, I had to dress my daughter in boys pants in order for her not to show a "plumber's crack" every time she moved. Now, I have to fight to find blouses for her that don't expose her bra. :mad

As for conforming and competing at young ages, yes, even young girls, very young girls can be sexualized. Sad, but it's true. They are pounded with overtly sexual messages every where they look and girls do to pick up on it. I've many, many years experience with preschoolers and yes, they do understand what it means to be "sexy" and have learned that this is desirable.

I've seen very inappropriate underwear for little girls at places like JC Penney's and Belks. I wonder, what does a 6 year old need with lacy see through underwear?

lance, re read these posts and you will see why i will say this.

it is our christian duty not to allow our daughters to buy into this inappropraite clothing. That is what biblereader meant. As a man if my granddaughter at the age of 12 came to my house with cleavage showing she would be punished, and kindly asked to leave, buy some clothes that cover that area and then visit, if she cant no need to see mee. I dont partake in the raising of a loose girl/woman. They turn that way as a adult, on them not me or my wife. I have no worries though my son-in-law wont let that nor will the the other side as they are catholic grandparents.

even in the decadent 80's thongs for the tweens was unacceptable to say the least. Have we come so far in twenty yrs? to this crap.

If a parent wants to not dress their kid like a tramp, more power to them.

What my post was about what how we have over sexed everything in this country and pay way to much attention to sex that even the slightest thing becomes porn to someone.

I'm also amused how bible reader used a quote about sex slavery to back up here claim about flashy dress.

that was my point. The quote had nothing to do with what BR was saying.

Lance,

I am sorry but laying all the blame on the girl's parents seems a bit off to me. My parents brought me up to dress appropriately...yet one of my siblings chose to in her youth and still chooses to dress provocatively. Why?

Because her friends do it.
Because in her mind, that is what it takes to be pretty.

Where could she have gotten this idea?

Society perhaps.....

Think sometimes we tend to forget the way the media plays at angles so as to appeal to the young mind and place within it images of what is cool, or sociably acceptable so as to fit in with the 'in' crowd.

and that parent can control the media, yes sometime it helps that the media isnt soo pushy. Lance,i'm old enough to remember when a kid could watch tv and not be subjected to filth, now for the christian its too bad we want sin, so shut off you tv then. We ask for some decent entairment that doesnt have all the nudity and wanton violence and we get for the most part.....

the media does influence kids no doubt, but the parent can only do soo much, especially if they are single parents. the more and more older i get the less and less i need tv.

oh i miss the old tv shows.

I'm not blaiming just the parents, but If I came off that way, I'm sorry.

Something that I think gets ignored from both sides is the fact that the US has become a "me" culture. ITs all about what the one person wants with no attention to the future, or any forthought.

Our society has grown and advanced so fast, that we haven't caught up with how to handle it yet. The idea of the individual being super special, the idea that everyone is special, that idea that everyone gets a free share of everything has caused our nation to become extremely self absorbed and lazy.

The sex part deals into it, because when it becomes about the singular, baser instincts take over. Obesity, over sexed culture, and laziness are caused by hedonistic ideology.

We have lost the sense of community and of the whole.

This is why I stand where I do in allot of issues. We forgot that Black and White dosen't have a definitive line, and separated ourselves into camps.

Democrat or Republican, Liberal or Conservative, Hollier then though and evil sinner, etc.

We have forgotten that we are a people that need each other to survive and have resorted to blaiming each other instead of just working with each other to survive.

That is all.

I don't understand all the hoopla. I clicked the first link to the clothing site. I think the clothes were cute. They were frilly skirts of an appropriate length (just above the knee). Tops were either tanks or sleeved. I don't see the fuss.

Second link was to someones blog who told a joke about a congressman.

Why pick on this company?

Kids aren't even being children if they dress like that.

I was at a fabric store, and a mother told me she was dressing her daughter up for Helloween as a bar whore.

THE MOTHER said that!

If you don't see the fuss, then I can't reach you. Maybe Jesus can.

Remember, getting a little girl used to looking like that, only paves the way for more
trouble down the road.
Why not let her smoke cigarettes, too, so she can complete the look? And hold a glass of
vodka in the other little hand? Is that ok, too?

Schools and tv have your child's mind, much longer than you do, unless you home school.
Jesus said the world belongs, mostly, to the devil, who is the destroyer.
He wants to destroy innocence, in children, and by pumping this garbage thru the
media, some parents let their kids wallow in it.

There is NOTHING wrong with blaming people, when they have done something wrong.
That's called accepting responsibility. What's WRONG in society, is all the lines, the clear boundaries,
are being blurred by the people who don't like keeping the bible in their thoughts, and all it's CLEAR rules.

No, place blame where it needs to be placed. Let people know there is a penalty for bad choices, like dressing your daughter up like a bar whore.

I think it is really a whole thing, not just simply parents watching what their child wears- which they should!

But if you do not control what kinda friends your children should have, then they will flesh it out and it will cause problems.

If we let them listen to whatever is popular and watch whatever then we have the same problem.

I think alot of times- NOT ALL- the problem becomes that the christian parent themselves wants to live like the world, be popular, attractive keep up with the world so they themselves do not live godly and then they have children with the same problem. They start trying to get their babies to keep up with the jones's so the child never knows any other way to be.

OR the parent does not live like that but they just want to inforce rules for the sake of LOOKING holy but they do not ever live a life of faith and dying to self that shows forth a good example to the child so they can see that God is REAL and POWERFUL and GOOD.- If people just want to live a dead christian life, but LOOK holy then their will be no power or love or faith shown to the children and the rules they put on them will be for the sake of looking holy at church and wont really train the child up seeing the truth of Jesus Christ.

And after it all- when they hit teens or 20's even if you have done it alllll perfect- they may have a time when they get all in their flesh and rebel and do whatever they do behind your back BUT the gooood news about this is that if you have trained them in the truth and they have lived with the power of God as a child- they are just going out to realize they are sinners and that they need a saviour too and you can walk in faith that God will use all that nastines to save them powerfully!

You are right, there are Christian parents who are so backslidden they look and act like hell.
Christians are so confused, and lack firm moral ground, it's terrible.

Your comments reminds me of what has happened to our country. we let the liberals go wild, and didn't enforce our boundaries, and now we have a couple of spoiled, rotten people running the country, hoping to downgrade America as soon as they can.

Oh my. Why choose to communicate in such an insulting, antagonistic, overly dramatic way? If you let a young girl wear those clothes might as well let them drink vodka. Really?

The clothing on the sight is not sexual in nature. They are frilly skirts. Oh my! one of the shirts had a peace sign on it. Must be from the devil.

However, I do understand your overall point. That children are becoming sexually aware at younger ages these days, but I don't think the website you linked to is a culprit. I thought the clothes are cute. In the future if you could refrain from antagonistic posing we can have a conversation.

You thought the clothes were cute? Do you think those clothes would look good on a 25 year old female, going to a black tie dinner, too? Just wondering. Trying to find your boundaries.
The clothing is sexual in nature. The point of this is, to let children retain their innocence, and get a hold of them before the devil does. If he has already, fight for your child. Don't just give in, and
let it go on and on.
I'm a history buff, and, the clothing we wear today, the things we do on Sundays, would cause most of the Christians of yesteryear to roll over and moan in angst, in their graves if it were possible.

Do you NOT think the inverted, broken cross, aka peace sign, is devilish in nature?
Do you know much about symbols, and how prevalent occultic (which is an abomination to God) signs
are in worldly culture, today?
Yes, the peace sign, so deceptively named, IS of the devil . Why do you mock?
What are your boundaries? How far will you go in the world? When will you say, ENOUGH?
