Does today's leadership comapae to the apostles?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HEre is a question for you. It is quoted from the Daily God Walk for today:
"Ask yourself this question, “Who do I know that would say I am a meek and gentle person?†Hint: your mother doesn’t count."

Were the apostles perfect , that no leaders of today can compare to them ? ... :halo

I don't know that apostles were perfect... but they may have been closer than some leaders today.
They knew how to be firm, yet gentle. Their message affected their world because it was enthused with power and covered with love.

some do, but then only christ is the person and the lord whose image we should confirm and all fall short.

No the apostles were not perfect, that is why Jesus picked them, they had all kinds of flaws, and because they were flawed, Jesus was able to show His life changing, transforming power.

Actually, I am thinking of the apostles in the context of 1 Thessalonians 2:6:7, "As apostles of Christ we could have been a burden to you, but we were gentle among you, like a mother caring for her little children."

I know that many leaders demonstrate that kind of care and concern, but there are others who are interested in projecting their doctrine, or the unique doctrine of their denomination, than they are of caring for the flock like a mother caring for her little children.

Until Jesus returns, this stuff will go on, there is no stopping it, these are flawed humans we are talking about here. So get use to it, it will continue.

amen lewis, sad. That's why it's good to seek the lord before going to a church(finding a home) and knowing the word.
