Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your
jbook were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.
This comes to the heart of being outside time and creation. In a sense the Lord has seen before our beginning and to the end of time, if such a point ever exists. Life as a film that is recorded is a real concept but we are living it and remember a small part of it. The Psalm is saying the Lord knows everything we are, far beyond our understanding or comprehension and still He loves us.
A moral question is about abnormalities, problems in development, things that will doom us to an early grave, levels of intelligence. Is one given little time and opportunity as wonderfully made as one who will life a full span and some with good health? This gets to the heart of emotional values. If life itself no matter how fleeting a glories gift no matter its limitations, to just partake. If life is heaven, in touching God, then there is no downside.
If life only has value as some come to feel if they can fulfil their desires for success in sport or physical ability, which if removed remove their value, then life is only "good" and "wonderful" if their dream which only comes into being as they grow is fulfilled. This is so subjective and surrounded by culture and ability and devaluing many other aspects of life and interaction, I think this reflects a poor reading of value of a conscious being able to love and interact.
It is why I disagree with Dignitas and the ability to give people the chance to die for their own reasons. The problem is others are being drawn into their trauma, which devalues the preciousness of life and its fragility and levels of interaction which is shifted will bring about a very different outcome.
When talking to my sister who was suicidal, I pointed out our bodies are built to keep us alive, every system works to keep us going. Death is inevitable, the absence of choice and expression, so giving in is a defeat and devaluing the very thing we are. To a young child this is absurd with so much richness around, it is our cultural baggage and hurts that drag us to devalue the preciousness of ourselves and others.
God bless you
