Do you believe the Second Coming will occur in your lifetime

I wouldn't presume to believe that I know when the Second Coming will occur; However, I feel some-what selfish in saying that I hope it will ( not that my hopes have any effect on when it will happen ).

Know what I mean?

Its almost as If I want an easy-out from this crazy planet, but at the same time there is still so much left to be done, and so many people to be reached.

So I guess I will toss my lot in with the "not in my lifetime" group, if for no other reason then hoping that we can reach more people before it happens.

There are those who view the second coming as the return of Jesus and there are those who regard the second coming within the context of "the Kingdom of God is within."

The second category believe that the realization of "the Kingdom of God within" in a large group of true believers (the Revelations number 144,000 and "the bride of Christ" are mentioned and there is also mention of "holy people" in Daniel 12:7) will be the critical mass which is needed to "lift the veil" (shift of consciousness) for all of humanity.

I pray that it will be in my lifetime. Seeing, however, how little regard people ... including multitudes who call themselves Christians ... show for e.g. Mark 12:30-31, which is one of the prerequisites for the lifting of the veil, I have my doubts.

Those who are wise will understand (from Daniel 12:10)

Interesting post Lonelyguide...

I read something like that in "The Mystic Christ".... Good book by the way...

I've always told people that I think things can get a lot worse. I do agree that things have deteriorated quickly over the past 15-20 years but I in some ways other generations have experienced similar changes for the worse. So I have my doubts that it will, I'm not going to committ to the thinking that it won't. I do realize that the world's situation will be like the domino effect and once it gets so far it will continue to spiral out of control at a maddening pace.

In some ways, I'd like to experience death first. It's a completely individual journey thats steeped in mysteries and fascinations that has interested me for many years.

Wouldn't Ezekiel, chapters 38 and 39 have to happen first ?
Ezekiel 38:1-23
Ezekiel 39:1-29

LOL, I'm still working out the details of these chapters to see where they fit into Revelation. So, I'm not inclined to answer that quite yet. ;-) So far, what I have gotten from Ch. 38 is a little background on Antichrist.

There are things that still have to be fulfilled first according to the Bible, that just has not been fulfilled yet. And plus most of the world has to hear the Gospel.

:-D (I concur)

I am moving this into the End Times Forum.

Yes absolutely.

Let me guess: 2006 seems likely, as both Syria and Iran situations
are in "imminent status" and will perhaps trigger events that will involve
Israel as well. Bush would want to "do it" alone but hasn't the official
backing to do so. He will talk someone into helping him out here.
Someone with weapons, and located in the area.

Hi Forum,

My answer isn't on the poll.

The parousia occurred in 70 AD. That was the beginning of Jesus appearing to each individual at the time of their personal death. So Mother Teresa has aleady experienced her personal second coming, mine is still future.

Mother Theresa is dead in the ground waiting for the resurrection. She will either be resurrected in the First resurrection or in the last resurrection to be judged as a sheep or a goat.

When Jesus returns, those that are born of God will no longer be under the bondage of sin and death. At the resurrection, each believer will be changed and put on the immortal and incorruptible body for eternity.

When Jesus returns all eyes will see him come in the clouds just as he asceneded into heaven, and when he comes the ole devil will be cast into the pit for a thousand years while Jesus reigns on the earth with his immortal saints.

As I see it the problem here is not with the Word of God,

But like the Jews that followed Moses out of Egypt,

Only one person knew God all of the rest KNEW ABOUT HIM.

This seems to be the problem in the church today.

And by some of what was said here and other threads it is certain.

1John 2:27 says the anointing which you have received will teach you.

And God is not the God of confusion.1Cor.14;33

IF YOU ARE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT, AND HE LIVES WITHIN YOU HOW FAR AWAY CAN THE ANSWER BE?

It is apparent some do not have the Spirit.

I would tell all the most important thing after being born again is for you to get to know God on a one on one knowledge.

He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him Heb11:6.

What you are waiting for is a man who leads by example and endorses the operating systems outlined in the bible. Just because you missed Christ at Y2K does not mean he did not step forward and challenge this world. And just because you were not awakened to see the miracles he performed prior to Y2K does not mean they were not done. He comes like a thief in the night and that means he was cloaked in secrecy while he performed prophesy. Its the same reason that Jesus was not seen, beaten and executed by the mobs that stand against him. When the messiah comes there will be no place for him to lay his head.
