I'm sorry brother Edward but you will have to forgive me I am mentally challenged, but you do know that it says to longed drink water exclusively right? By the way, I'm not sure if you saw but I responded to your recent prayer thread.

Sorry, my mistake. It wasn't you it was brother Alan. I was just confused why it said water and not wine in your quote.

Ahh! No wonder I couldn't find it! Lol! NP, Sister! (I couldn't remember which thread you meant, but figured you spoke truth so figured I just hadn't checked into a thread that I posted awhile ago or something!). I have a long private conversation going on which made me think that thread notice rolled over the bottom or something. I was about to ask which thread was that!

Yeah sorry, I just made a mistake. But why did your post say not to drink water exclusively? I'm a huge water drinker and water is very good for you is it not?
 
Back in the old days, they didn't have chlorine and water treatment filters to keep the water good. They used a bit of wine to keep the germs in the water at bay.

Nowadays water is treated before it comes into your home, so we don't need to do that anymore. Unless you go on vacation is a third world country that doesn't treat their water. Drink all the water you want to here in the USA.

It is good for you. I...don't have answer for that Sister. I did a cursory search just to find the scriptures to post. I haven't been studying 1 Timothy right now, I just snatched the scripture! (I'm still reading the OT again right now). I presume that God had told them at some point to only drink water? And was now allowing therm to include wine because it's good for the stomach and ailments...?

I actually don't drink a lot of water, but I do coffee!

I should do a thread on sepsis ,deep well injection,radiation in our water.

Lead etc,yes flint isn't the only problem.

You could always buy distilled water, or buy a home distillation machine.

No,those dont kill bacteria,nor deal with radiation. I have a reverse osmotic system with a charcoal filter .reverse osmosis enables one to use salt water as a source. You have to use those here on some wells as salt water is now entering to.wells
 
Oh, right wells. Wells are untreated. You have to treat well water yourself before using it.

I used to have well water when I lived in the country, now I have city water though.

Well obviously, it would be totally disgusting and life threatening if they didn't. Unfortunately not everybody on earth can have clean water to drink though and they often do die from it.
 
In many places, people have to treat water themselves before drinking it. That was the case in Timothy's church, so Paul told Timothy to let his flock treat their water before drinking it. They didn't have home reverse osmosis filters back then, so they used a little wine to control germs in water.

Stop drinking only water, but drink a little wine to help your stomach and your frequent sicknesses. 1 Timothy 5:23 NCV

People in Timothy's church were getting sick from drinking untreated water. Paul told them to treat their water with the only thing they had available back then. Today people use treated city water, or home filters of some kind for well water. No wine needed.

I know, you already told me that remember? I was talking about today in other poor countries like Africa and Mexico I believe.
 
Sending a portable treatment machine to a village can help the whole village to stay healthy. Some Christian organizations do that.

Oh yeah, that's right. I heard about stuff like that before. My church does projects similar to that.
 
My brothers and sisters, if people say they have faith, but do nothing, their faith is worth nothing. Can faith like that save them? A brother or sister in Christ might need clothes or food.
