Are there benefits?

I must confess that my wife and I had one of these contraptions which we used on our walks. We thought it would be easier than pushing a stroller. Our experience was that we essentially ended up carrying Samuel (our youngest - about 6-9 months old at the time) in our arms because the jolt of our steps would make his poor little help flop around if we didn't hold him firmly in place, which of course led to him being incredibly uncomfortable and fussy - not to mention it actually gave both of us back-aches.

We used ours maybe 4 times, and then tossed it out.

This judges score? Great concept + poor execution = 1 out of 5 stars

I remember a million years ago when I was a kid, during my childhood school days, I used to carry a very gigantic bag on my back. I had several books in the bag. At first it was a lot of stress...later I got so used to it that I could move about freeely probably not remebering I had such a huge bag on me.

...so could people on this case probably get used to carrying babies. One obious disadvantage is the stress and strain; the babies discomfort. But I think there are some advantages too, maybe.

i have tried this method before. The babies didnt disturb at all. But I was so worried that the bag may break or the baby may fall. LOL.

So I had to stop. Let the parents take care of their babies:)

We tied our kid to a leash, not sure if that counts. Did not last long though.

Mike.

I think that method is necessary when the mother is very busy or when the baby (usually a toddler) is very destructive.
