Growth Do you Struggle?

""Do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward." Hebrews 10:35

There is an old adage that says, "Don't bit off more than you can chew." It's wise not to take on more responsibilities than we can handle. At some time, however, we will likely feel overwhelmed by the size and difficulty of a task we have agreed to do.

This can happen even in our walk of faith in Christ when our commitment to God seems to much to bear. But the Lord has an encouraging world for us when our confidence wavers.

The writer of Hebrews urged his reader to recall the courage they demonstrate during the early days of their faith. (Heb. 10:32-33) Despite public insults and persecution, they aided believers in prison, and they joyfully accepted the confiscation of their own property (Heb. 10:33-34) With that in mind, he says, "Therefore, do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise." (V. 35-36)

Our confidence is not in ourselves, but in Jesus and His promise to return at just the right time.

It is God's power that enables us to continue in our journey of faith. Recalling the Lord's faithfulness in days past stirs our confidence in Him today. --David McCasland

Often Sandy we get depressed when we seem to be doing little for GOD and our own lives are doing little for us....
Trees often put up with droughts and flood rains....
We have to understand the cycles of joy and depression are as natural as coming to Jesus
Even the trees fall of water transpire and wilt in the noon day heat from working for the Lord
Our confidence stems from our hope...

When I ask the Lord "are we saved" He assures me "if I continue to abide in Him" that is the hope....
and that hope is fuelled by faith in the daily flow of power from Jesus to us....

http://spiritualsprings.org/ss-1.htm The steps to Jesus talks about this flow daily we need....

I like your image "Called to Desert Ministries" a desert in a Hebrew sense is a place of order...
A city despite is nice appeal is actually a place of disorder, we humans are so much not like GOD
yet one has to admire our engineering skills and our ability to be similes like God's power...
That is the deception of the love of the world....

God's blessing to all
Shalom

Friend, you said

Abiding in Him is obedience. It does not give us salvation. Salvation is a free gift. You don't earn it.

Yes Angel, salvation is a free gift, we do not earn it. And yes we are obedient to Him if we love Him and grow in that love...God bless your understanding Angel, and your walk in Jesus every day.

Commitment is our whole heart being obedient to the calling and following through every task that is set before us. Our commitment is what brings about Gods approval and rewards for being a faithful and obedient servant. You need to be responsible for your commitments you make and follow through them with much prayer and authority. We need not struggle through anything as long as we are obedient to the Lord.
