Right reba.I think He only hears the pray of salvation from the unbeliever.

I once spent an evening with a group of Jews. None of them believed in Jesus as their Messiah. They said some prayers (more like sang them, actually) before eating, and one of the women translated them for me. Each prayer had a slightly different tune, so I could tell when one ended and another started. When one prayer started, I felt the presence of God like I had seldom felt it before. It didn't surprise me when the woman who was translating said "This one is about the Messiah". God seems to have heard that prayer, even though they weren't praying for salvation and they weren't "believers" in the sense most Christians put in that word.

Probably because most unbelievers, not all....

pray to the virgin Mary not knowing she's dead and can't really hear their prayers.

either that or people praying to statues, dead relatives, idols and fake things.

people have a lot to learn.

Oh he hears all of them but answering them? Before I was saved i asked god to prove to me he is real I wasnt going to accept him but I needed to know I wasnt alone in this world. The next Night I was in a pure white place with God right beside me showing in front of me a river a colors so vivid and pretty it literally made me cry. He said it was it plan and I couldnt stop thanking him for showing me this. while bawling from the beauty I just kept thanking him
Yet even this wasnt enough for me to accept him

Only the Catholics pray to virgin Mary. That is a small percentage of the unbelievers.

I tend to think God 'hears' all prayers of all people. The real issue is that he doesn't respond to the prayers of non-Christians unless they are prayers of acceptance asking for salvation. Of course, at the point the person is a Christian...

To make a long story short..When my son was 8 mths old he choked on a partially popped kernel of popcorn that his sister had dropped. At the hospital they put him under and went in with a bronchial scope. They could see it but then he started to cough and they couldn't see it anymore. One of two things could have happened they thought. It was either now in his lung or he swallowed it. That was on a Monday, he was in an oxygen tent for three days but he was still wheezing. They told me that if he was not better by the next day they were sending him to St Francis to do surgery, they believed it was in his lung. Kathi, I never prayed so hard in my life. I had him out of the tent changing is pjs again and I begged God please just let him cough it up. He started to cough, I sat him up, and he coughed it right out in my hand. That was God, he heard my pray as an unbeliever.

Some how we have the idea He hasn't answered if He says no

Guess that proves me wrong, eh? It does kind of make sense that God would answer a prayer like that for an unbeliever. He would know that you would believe later, and look at how much something like that can do to encourage and strengthen your faith when you finally do believe!

I was blessed when I was really little with a great grandma who loved Jesus. But I was taken far away from her when I was four. She sent me a Bible for my 5th birthday. Jesus words were in red.

I would like to also add a reference from ToS 2.4:
Publicly judging someone as not being a Christian and/or not following Christ unless they themselves claim not be a Christian is disallowed. That's between them and the Lord. This includes judgments against collective beliefs or groups in general.
