Does Anybody Remember This Show?

Captain Kangaroo
H&R Puff-N-Stuff... pilot show.
Romper Room
Old, Classic Sesame Street. Before it became politically correct.
Mr Rogers (before he got grey hair)
Galloping Gourmet...he was funny when he got drunk and grabbed a pretty lady from the audience to eat with him.
Jack LaLayne. He was so fit. Drinking all those special drinks and taking vitamins.
Walt Disney came on right after Wild Kingdom. (Sunday Night)
All good stuff.
Who was the Galloping Gourmet?
One of the first cooking programs, I guess.

What about this one?
And do you remember S & H Green Stamps?

Yeah...
Both my mother and grandmother collected them. They both got things with them. One of which was a step stool I used to sit on in the kitchen. It had two steps when the seat was folded up...loved sitting in it and climbing it. My mom got the exact same one.

I remember the little booklet where they were to be posted.
It was so exciting to cash them in for a gift.

Now every store, it seems like, has a credit card type card they give so they could put points on it to redeem for something or other.
I don't even want them anymore....I think I have at least 50,,,but probably more. It's getting silly. So I just turn them down.
Unless I REALLY shop in the same store A LOT...

Meanwhile In Chicago:

Well, I never heard of this show before (and that's probably because that this particular episode showed that it took place ten years before I was born) but except for the Flash Gordon part it seemed rather interesting. I would have rather watched the Looney Tunes part myself though. :)

The 30s,flash Gordon being typical of the time and its why its space ships are art deco in style .

Art deco ,one of my,favorite subjects .

I remember old jingles for commercials like "Everything's better with BlueBonnet on it " or watching Curtis Mathis TV commercials. I remember watching the dog chase the Gravy Train through the house. And I remember "What's the best tuna? Chicken of the Sea." jingle. I remember being taken to a beer joint by "Dad" when I was real little and being told to stay and sit in the back room while he went to go drink. They had a TV on the wall and remembered the cartoon Hamm's Beer commercials. Had some kind of Indian Tom Tom playing some jingle about "clear spring waters"
