Does Anyone Have Any Recommendations for A Free Bible College?

I am looking to further my education, but want to do so going to a Bible college. Since I cannot really go to a Bible college out of state as I am needed at home, I must look for an online Bible college. I am not looking for anything accredited, which means that I cannot use a Pell grant to pay for the school. So it will need to be free.

Anyone have any recommendations?

I will say that I have looked at Ames, but wasn't really what I was looking for. I also recommended to another user a few years ago Online Bible College, but that too isn't what I am looking for. I am hoping for courses into Hebrew and Greek to be included.

An example on how we get off track. If the Lord told you to do bible college, then it does not matter where it's at, or the cost.

One good way to know we are doing our own things is being led by desire, and not led by place. This is our guard to not learn things that hurt, and get into things that will mean nothing.

An example, one might be looking on the internet at the news and see a college mentioned. It stays on their mind just that glimpse of it, and keeps with them. Soon the thought comes to go to that college, but that is crazy because it's on the other side of the country. However, they can't get it out of their mind, and soon they hear the college mentioned again, and again.

There will be a desire to go to that college in them, can't explain it, but it's there.

Instead of thinking we want to buy our first house, you pass the house your suppose to buy. That is how it works. The place your suppose to be comes up, not wanting to be someplace and hunting down the best looking one.

For me it does matter as my wife does not want to leave Florida or the area where we are and I need to do online classes as I am needed at home most days as I am a caregiver for my wife and our two children. This is something that has been on my mind for a few years now.

I am not looking into going into ministry at this time, I just wanted to further my education, as well as my understanding of theology.

OK, a hobby. Got it.

Well, there is a whole lot of theology here on the forums. In fact, through the years, I would not have know a whole lot of theology that was out there if not for the forums.

I can promise you that there are people here that have more knowledge than what you will find in some online courses. The more you learn, the more you realize that those so called college teachers don't know all that much.

The other thing is, so called Theology, is different based on who you ask. is it Election or foreknowledge? Is it Trinity, Oneness, Modalism, or neither? You have a whole wealth of information here to get started, just ask the questions, compare the scriptures.

The thing about "ONLINE" courses is that what they teach you could be wrong. This happens when you get stuck in one doctrine of Christ.

If the Lord told you to do this, go online, then your already online here.

No need for the Lord to tell you to do this, Boidae21, as he pretty much has:

Mar 12:30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' (ESV)

Absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to study theology for one's own learning. I hope you can find something as I don't know of any free courses, but I haven't looked either.

James 1:5
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Proverbs 1:20
Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:
21 She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,
22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

God created the world.
Romans 1:19-20

Revelation 3:20

God knows your obligations. He is well able to educate you.

Seek and you will find. Know his voice and follow not a stranger.

Keep praying. I understand your request as I have been down that road before. Not assuming anything but if you have a local church, maybe some intense bible study with fellow church members or even other Christian friends that can come visit you at home. Just food for thought. Btw, I haven't found any decent online free bible colleges. There are plenty of free study resources if you go the home study route. God bless you and guide your heart. May He open doors that will increase your knowledge according to His Will.

Thank you, I am sticking to my request for a free Bible college.

i signed up myself.. i called the number it says no longer in use.. not sure whats up i have this fro several years so i just figured it was still available

It seems a good place to start a free self education. But sometimes we forget. If your local library does not have the books you would like to study, you can request them from larger sources. Quite a few books are available. Plus, and as you know, the price is right.

I prefer a structured curriculum as oppressed to trying to come up with one myself. With a Bible College, there is also testing and papers to do. These are things that I would like to have.

Thanks for your suggestion, but it is not what I am looking for.

I've attended Bible College but that wasn't online and wasn't free and not affiliated with a denomination (which I like). So that doesn't help you at all, does it? (sorry) But as far a free studies of Greek and Hebrew? Mr. Google is your friend. That you can find readily. Start with Hebrew.

Here is something that may help your search -- if you want to limit Mr. Google to showing only educational sites
type SITE:.edu [search string]

like this:
site:.edu learn hebrew online free

That's how I found a link to the University of Texas at Austin (it was right up top) and it looks like it offers free online Biblical Hebrew class? I haven't looked further than their splash page but maybe there are other links that could be profitable for you.

Here's the link result for Uni of Texas @ Austin Biblical Hebrew:

I just stumbled onto this site -- it's not gonna fit your full requirements but you already know that I think you need to loosen up on that so I won't tell you that again.... sheesh.... the price is right, can we afford to be prickly errr... I may have meant 'picky', too?
