Does anyone REALLY want to keep their old same body?

Lewis has another thread on cremation.
Nothing wrong with that, I enjoy them.
The last one got quite long with talk of dead bodies and decay and finally dust.
Some were concerned if God could find and restore all the atoms in the first place, and then what if they were burned up?

My question is does anyone REALLY want their same body resurrected for eternity?

Atom for atom?
Same bad joints?
Bald heads?
Bad eyes?
Face it, some of us are ugly.
Some of us have two left feet.
Some of us are all thumbs.
Some of us have rotten teeth.
Fat, skinny, dark skin, pale skin.
And if you say yes but with all the bad stuff corrected, well then that is not really you either is it?
Would you (will you) know yourself in the mirror?

I'm gonna go with "no," especially since I have had a cold for the last few days and recently had appendicitis. Could be worse for sure, but a new body sounds good.

The Bible, of course, concerns itself with how to get us to the next life...it doesn't tend to give a lot of details about the next life. However, there are plenty of tantalizing hints.

Our resurrected bodies won't have the ravages of sin to affect them, so I doubt if things like obesity, bad eyes or teeth, or stiff hips will be a problem. And, Jesus was recognizable enough in His resurrected form...as soon as He opened the eyes to see Him. So, I am pretty sure we'll recognize ourselves...and be fairly pleased with the result.

The thing I've always wondered is how "old" will our resurrected bodies be? As old as we were when we died, but without "old age" problems?

Isa. 65
[17] For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
[18] But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and
her people a joy.
[19] And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people:
and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
[20] There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.

(And who are My People!)

[21] And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
[22] They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
[23] They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.

[24] And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

I see flesh & blood not being in heaven meaning 'sinfull decayed flesh & blood' as was not the case before Adam & Eve's sin??

And it does say that we 'will grow up as caves in the stall.' (Mal. 4:2 is a good verse!) 'i' think that we will come up in the resurection perfect, yet in the same size per/say as we died, such as saved children who will grow up there.

And of course this brings to mind little children, even babies.

I find this verse disturbing. If taken literally, then much of our time here is mute. :sad

Aw yes, the children and babies. :)
