Does God hear me?

Hi :D
I've not been around much, hope you are all well.
The past 2-3 years I've not really dedicated myself to God or the life style he would want me to live. I have tried to get back on track but I've lost the enthusiasm for it, I don't know why. I am yet again trying to give it another go but I was wondering does God hear my prayers? Does he close his ears to people like me that know his truths and yet doesn't live according to them?

You still could be going along with God's plan without realizing it. The no contact is also part of it.

When I first started following Christ everything seemed so fresh, life was going good, seemingly every prayer was answered, and church was so good. As I grew in grace and knowledge came trials to my faith I didn't expect, and faith seemed to evade me.

The thing is that God is growing us up into a closer walk with Him. He does have ministries for us and gives us gifts to accomplish them, and 1 Timothy 4:14 says it this way:" Neglect not the gift that is in thee." Let's take the Apostle Paul for instance. Acts 9:16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake. The word suffer can also mean to endure.

Brother King James brings out a good point here in that your contact with other Christians could be lacking, and I don't mean you don't attend church, but more at are you involved with them in things of Christ. There's a real reason for assembling together with those of like faith. Our faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God; don't neglect it.

Does God hear you? Yes He does and He never leaves or forsakes us. Elijah must have experienced something like this when he said in 1 Kings 19:11-12 And he (The Lord) said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake: 12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

Maria, sometimes we are looking for great things and wonders and all the time God comes to us with the STILL SMALL VIOCE as He through His word is leading us in the paths of His righteousness. You may think the heavens are as of brass hearing nothing you ask, and it is not so. God tells us to come boldly to Him in Hebrews 4:16, and so do so, though I will say things answered will be according to His will. He is not going to give you that which may harm you.

God bless you in Jesus' name.

Hi Maria and so glad you came here today and I praise the Lord for you. OK, Been their and claim to be the Queen of going astray many many times, but the great thing is even though I might have left God by the wayside to immerse myself into worldly things He always had my back even though I never knew it at the time, because God said He would never leave us or forsake us, but will always draw us back to His grace as many times as needed. What you have lost is your joy in the Lord and need a refreshing of the Holy Spirit. God hears our prayers and we have to be still long enough to hear His answers to them. We have a habit of being inpatient wanting to limit God at times, but everything is made perfect in His timing if we just keep still and allow Him to work in us. I suggest you find a quite place where you will not be distracted and just pour your heart out to God. Lay everything in your life at His feet and allow the Holy Spirit refresh and renew you. Another important thing to help keep your faith strong is to not forsake the assembling with others that are in Christ for this will help strengthen your walk with Him as you seek Christ through His word. Live, Love, Laugh! Live for the Lord, allow His love to be overflowing in you and dance in the joy of Gods Spirit.

If you ever need to talk I am only a message away. God bless you and you are in my prayers.

A very important part is hearing God. This is why daily, prayerful Bible reading is so important.

God has already told us His revealed mind and will in His Word, the central subject of which is the Lord Jesus.

mariamaria,

When I wrote your name out, I thought about the passage where Jesus said, "Martha, Martha."
Luke 10:41

New King James Version (NKJV)

41 And Jesus[a] answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.

As everyone here has expressed, it's common to think that God doesn't hear our prayers. You might try exploring or examining your sin in the light of Scripture. If you have put your faith in Jesus, and you trust that His sacrifice has provided payment for your sin, you shouldn't feel threatened or condemned to look into the Law and see how disobedient you are, but it will give you insight on how much God has forgiven you causing you to feel greatly encouraged. Your love for God will be the motivation for doing anything for Him, and if that motivation or love has dimmed, there is no safer place then meditating on the cross and what God has done for you.

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and sup with him, and he with me.

This was said to the lukewarm folks.

Check the crainal nerves and see if you hear some sort of a knock, and open the door. LOL He does the approach IMHO.

The reason I thought God was not listening to my prayers was because of my disobedience to him but I see by your replies that he always listens ..I read all your replies and believe me, every single one of you has helped , all in different ways but you have helped me, thank you so much ..God bless...x

God bless you also and just continue to seek His face.

1 Chronicles 16:11 Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.

James 4:6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says, God resists the proud, but He gives grace to the humble.

James 4:10 Be humbled before the Lord, and He will lift you up.

1Pe 5:5 Likewise, younger ones, be subject to older ones, and all being subject to one another. Put on humility. For God resists proud ones, but He gives grace to the humble.
1Pe 5:6 Therefore be humbled under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you in due time,
1Pe 5:7 casting all your anxiety onto Him, for He cares for you.

Don't know if you're going to see this or not, but yes, disobedience does not stop God from hearing us, though He may not reply due to that disobedience. He is waiting for repentance. The only prayers He doesn't hear are those of the unbeliever, until that unbeliever prays a prayer or makes some form of communication seeking salvation.

YW and don't forget the dependent, obedient, daily Bible reading: it's so important.
