Wow, what a question!! I think that we have to understand that God created the birth process with Adam and Eve. As we can see, Cain turned out bad. That's not God's fault but man's. Now, we have almost 7,000 years later and sin has entered the lives of those who want children. The birth process, although created by God thru Eve has evolved in a downward manner thru sin.

Men used to live for hundreds of years, now were lucky to get 60 years old. Sin has left it's mark with deformed babies, babies with terrible problems to say the least. It's no fault of the Parents, it's the fault of the effects of sin in the process of child bearing. Sometimes Mothers don't take good care of their unborn child resulting in terrible deformities or learning disorders etc etc.

Are you stating that a sinful life by a person or by their parents causes a reduction of the age a person can live until?
I agree that poor decisions during pregnancy can cause potential issues when a child is born; do you think God allows the child to be born with deformities or disorders as a lesson to the parents because of lifestyle choices?
I understand that God creates and loves us all equally despite our choices in life; am I correct?

Well hello my new friend MSchultz. Those are very good questions. Sometimes genetics do play a part in a child's make up. Genetics from past generations. Things are so different now than 2,000 years ago when Jesus the Son of God was on the earth ministering. Once He said of a blind man that He had healed....

John 9:1 "And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
9:2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
9:3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him"

Here we see three instances of the reason for blindness at that time in history. 1. The man sinned that caused his blindness. 2. The parents sinned. 3. Neither sinned because this blindness would be a time for Jesus the Son of God to demonstrate His Divine attributes to the world.

Today? Who really knows? There is so much corruption in our world today. Foods are contaminated. Drinks are contaminated. You name it and somehow mankind has been able to take out the natural and introduce to our diets all kinds of evil substances that effect pregnant Mothers and children.

You are right, God loves us despite our choices and will care for us in love when we go to meet Him in the New Jerusalem.

God created mankind male and female. That means he created the reproductive process.
God also created the earth which has everything that everyone on earth needs for life and health.

Man has chosen to control the production of those things necessary for life and health in order for a few people to become very rich.
Man has decided to use the wealth of the earth to create machines of destruction and to inflict wars upon mankind so that the few very rich can continue to control the wealth that God gave to all mankind for everyone's life and health.
This is the way it has been for all of mankind's history because man is a sinner and does not love his neighbor.

Imagine the wealth that is spent on weapons and wars being spent on food, houses, clean water, clothing, medicine, health and preaching the Gospel.
It's a fantasy, of course. Just look at the stupidity of our wealthy and powerful leaders worldwide. (Psa 146:3 Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no help.)

That's why our hearts cry out, "Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!"

This is my understanding from the scriptures...
Adam was created sinless by God Himself. Jesus wasn't begotten from the seed of a man but by God Himself.
All other men and women are begotten from the seed of sinful men. We are not directly created by God as Adam was, nor begotten of God, as Jesus was. Thus we are not born perfect, physically, mentally, or spiritually.

However, God has provided a way for us to become more perfect in this world and perfectly righteous in the next, whatever state we find we were born in, and His name is Jesus/Yeshua the Christ/Messiah, the only begotten Son of the Father.

Pollution, poverty, drug use, Rx pharmaceutical use, radiation, incest...all can cause problems with the as yet unborn, as well as the living, as a couple posters have already pointed out.

I'm wondering if maybe God sometimes tests us, both individually and as a society/societies, to see how we deal with "special needs" people. I say this as a "mental patient," so I'm a little slanted. I think about it...some people condemn women who abort babies w/ problems. Is it really their fault? What sort of support would this woman, her family, and the "special needs" kid have if the baby was born? Its like women in some cultures who abort female unborn babies. We condemn the woman, her immediate family...what about cultural forces at large?

As you did not do unto the least of these, so you did not do unto me.

How society chooses to deal with people--many of whom are, at least in part, shaped by factors beyond their control--who can't keep up in society says a lot about the culture as a whole.
