Bonairos, Hebrews 9:22 teaches us that without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. That means only faith in Jesus blood can there be forgiveness, because only Jesus' blood can contribute to forgiveness and salvation, NOTHING WE DO, FAITH ONLY!
When was the last time Jesus shed blood?
Answer: AT CALVARY!
Keep this in mind... NO HUMAN works whatsoever can blot out your sins, only Jesus' shed blood and FAITH IN IT can!
1. Without Jesus' spilled blood there can be no forgiveness of sin. So that means your continuous praying, works etc cannot add to your forgiveness or salvation. Only Jesus' blood can do that which is a benefit for you the moment you came to Christ by faith and accepted Him as your Lord and Saviour.
2. Jesus stopped bleeding at Calvary 2000 years ago and is no longer bleeding, so FULL ATONEMENT, FULL PAYMENT of sin has to have been fulfilled and 100% completed at Calvary! Hence, Jesus said, "IT IS FINISHED", John 19:30
3. As soon as a person believes and trusts in Christ Jesus, their sins are gone from them, and gone away for ever and they are given eternal life NOW, 1 John 5:13.
Then the Bible goes on to say, “As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalm 103:12) They cannot be removed and be here still.
You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea. – Micah 7:19
Hebrews 9:26 – He did away with sin on the Cross
Hebrews 9:28 - He took away the sin of the world at the Cross
Colossians 2:13 - He forgave all sins on the Cross – past present and future
Hebrews 1:3 – God cleansed all sins on the Cross
2 Cor 5:19 - God no longer counts the world’s sins against them
Hebrews 10:17-18 – God has forgiven all sins and forgotten them.
So, if you believe and trust in Christ, you are no more in the sight of God a sinner, you are accepted as though you were perfect, as though you had at kept the law perfectly, for Christ has kept it, and his righteousness is yours. You’ve broken it, but your sin is his, he has been punished for it and you’ve been pardoned from it.
