does "psychiatric treatment" result in more violence?

Your Article said:
...they automatically turn to psychiatric diagnosing and drugging. Previously concerned adult authorities then withdraw their concern and attention because the child is getting “psychiatric treatment.” Caring, empathic and effective psychosocial treatments fall by the wayside.

Bankers and others have created so much service inflation that one-on-one counseling has become mostly unaffordable. The majority are given drugs, but little counseling. The GOP has reacted to service inflation by trimming treatment, instead of trying to tame service inflation. Few patients can afford cash prices for counseling, with fewer each year due to service inflation. Taming inflation would be the responsible way to tame the budget. Expect the trend of less one-on-one counseling to continue.

The drugs are only okay if someone monitors patients to find out which ones develop side effects. Its not safe to give millions Ritalin, and then ignore them because services have become unaffordable.

I don't think that you are supposed to understand that article as it is labeled because it isn't really about psychiatric treatment or individuals who need treatment it is really about gun control.

Can medication cause violent behavior? Absolutely but not just psychiatric medication can do that and the disclaimers included with medication for all types of ailments prove that.

They sell medication to alleviate common allergies that can have a side effect of suicidal thoughts a precursor to violence against one's self.

I have adhd and bipolar which I think caused negative and sometimes violent irrational thoughts.God told me to let go of the negativity in my thought process so I did and since then I have not had violent thoughts.

Fifty years ago, health care spending was already high at $23.3 billion. Now, it’s absurd at an estimated $2.71 trillion in 2015 and growing. So what’s the average family’s cut of that? According to the annual Milliman Medical Index, the typical cost of an employee-sponsored preferred provider organization plan (PPO) for a family of four is $26,944. Just let that sink in.

That's $13.47 per hour. More than many people are paid in cash wages. Bankers' and others have been creating medical inflation way beyond the CPI. Bankers are oppressing the majority, especially those in need of psychiatric care.
