Don't Be A Christian Re-Gifter

It is painful to watch preachers, theologians, and/or anyone connected with the Christian faith prancing around pontificating about God, especially Jesus Christ, as if they are the author of everything they know. Since God gave us all of our knowledge, wisdom, and understanding we become re-gifters whenever we stand up and speak about our lord Jesus Christ without giving God full credit and praise.

Imagine how God feels when we pray and extol all of our 'Saintly' accomplishments waiting for a reward from God as if we are giving God some special and unique gift!. In actuality God sees our prayers as vain humility, as an attempt to re-gift back to God something he has already given to us as his original gift of love, namely his son Jesus Christ. We accomplishes all the good in this world through a belief in Jesus Christ who is God's son – God become man - and the indwelling Holy Spirit!

I hope all Christians will give God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit all the praise and thankfulness for all of our accomplishments or else one day when we stand before God he may mark us as re-gifter's by scorching our white garments with black smoke!

For all those who have never enjoyed the happiness, love, and peace of God's gift to us – his son Jesus Christ. Just believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and you'll receive the forgiveness of your sins and then be sure to give all the praise, thanksgiving, and love to God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit, and not to yourself, so you will not be branded a Christian re-gifter when you spend eternity in heaven!

God Bless

There definitely is some truth in what you are sharing. In Romans 10 it says we all stand by Grace so we should not be prideful or consider ourselves better then others.

I agree that vanity is a big problem today, even for some Christians & teachers. I agree that we are not to be prideful or boasting & that we should treat others as we would want to be treated by others, thus, we should love everyone, even our enemies. (Which I admit, is very hard to do at times.) But, I disagree that God considers our prayers vain humility. Some, maybe. But God delights in our prayers. Ref Proverbs 15:8 "For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers:..." --1 Peters 3:12 One of the things Jesus kept repeating often to his disciples was to ask & it would be given. --Matthew 7:7, Matthew 21:22, Luke 11:9, John 14:13-14, John 15:7, John 15-16, John 16:23, & several more. I believe the Lord delights in our prayers & delights in answering them. As reborn Christians, we are one with Christ & joint heirs, (Romans 8:17) as Jesus is one with God, (John 14:11). God certainly did not think of Jesus' prayer as vain. Neither should God consider the prayers of us who are one with Christ, as vain.
