In this case, AIG actually gets something very important, right. Well done. We have had physical remains of three H. sapiens subspecies previous to this. Anatomically modern humans, Neanderthals, and Denisovans were known from fossils. However, genetics showed that there was at least one other subspecies in existence at one time. Maybe this is a representative of that lineage. Or maybe not. We'll know when we can get some DNA from a specimen.

But what AIG got right is that these subspecies are all members of our own species. They are quite different from us, true biological races. (there are no biological human races today; we are all one race)
