Dream Job

What is your dream job? What did you want to be when you were younger? What do you want to be now?

When I was little I wanted to be a paleontologist.

I also wanted to be a soldier. I come from a family full of soldiers. My grandfather was the captain of a ship in World War II. My uncle was an Army Colonel and fought in the Korean War. My cousins were both in the military, one in the Army, the other in the Air Force. Another one of my cousins (through marriage) was in the Army and the other (also through marriage) is in the Air Force currently stationed in Afgan. (top secret stuff, dunno where). Another cousin of mine was a pilot in the Air Force during Vietnam. So, I have been around soldiers a lot and I have always looked up to them and I once wanted to be one. I still do, kinda...


I went through a lot of ideas for jobs. I wanted to me a toxicologist, a pharmacist, a firefighter, a cop, a lawyer, and a few other things.

I think I have finally stopped my search and have concluded that my path is going to lead me towards being a pastor. Ideally I would love nothing more than to become an Army Chaplain. Serving the ones who serve their country. What could be better than that?
 
I wanted to be a beluga whale trainer for while at Sea World. Then I wanted to be a phychiatrist for a while. Now though I'm sure that I'm going to be a helicopter pilot in the Coastguard. It has good pay, and I feel the need to save lives.
 
For a while I wanted to be a vet when I was little, but that dream shut itself down after I realized I had to put animals to sleep if I was one. Then I wanted to be an artist (and still do). Since fifth grade, I've wanted to be a writer. Then I went few a few brief stages where I wanted to be a wildlife photographer, cop, animal cop, Marine, or Air Force pilot. Now I am writing and painting, but I'm contemplating becoming a missionary instead.

And I don't know why but I also wanted to be a wild boar and a scallop, so yeah, I was a wierd child :sad
 
I've been through a lot: soldier, writer, doctor, police officer, multimedia designer (still kinda) but now teaching. I feel drawn to it.
 
I wanted to be: A police officer, fire fighter (who doesn't after seeing the fire truck a lot at school..?) & a teacher. But, I think I'll go with being a carpenter/handyman type person.
 
I wanted to be a storm chaser when I was younger but I won't be graduating with my certificate so I can't go to the right collages.

Now I want to become an artist or work at a spa or work in costum and makeup in the movie industry. If anyone saw that Alice in wonderland movie, that's the kind of makeup I'd find fun.
 
Like every kid growing up in Canada, my dream job was to be a hockey player in the NHL even though I knew I never would become one.

Other than that, I really had no idea what I wanted to do. When I started having to pick courses in school, I chose the maths and sciences because I didn't like arts or business. That pretty much limited me to engineering and life sciences, and since I don't like physics that much, my only option was life sciences. Right now I'm planning to become a doctor, but I don't know if I want to specialize.
 
When I was young I always wanted to be a superhero. I wanted to be like Spiderman because he was my favorite. I also had passions for Racing, Football, and all sorts of stuff. I guess as a kid you think you can do anything.

But as of right now I have my eyes set on the NFL. Its my dream, and if I continue to work I know I can reach it. I would also love to be a Football Coach. I just love the game of Football. Other then that I would love to be a theologist. I dont know why, but I was always fasinated with God, and World Religions. I could sit for hours and read about God, and The History of The Christian Church, or the foundation of Islam. Being a theologist is something Im strongly considering.
 
When I was like 11, I wanted to be a dog breeder. And in my early teens, this was still an interest. I did a lot of reading up on it and can still tell ya some interesting things about it. (It's actually not a business, though, as it's very expensive if you're serious about it, with the canine sports and health testing and all. More like an expensive hobby. Something I shouldn't pursue unless I'm in good financial standing.)


Now...I'm thinking either professional artist or vet tech.

I've had many "dream jobs" over the years. My earliest was writer, and I used to write a lot of books when I was in my pre-teens(Nothing good mind you, but I enjoyed writing them). At some point writing changed to writing AND movie directing and maybe acting....I was planning to make movies out of my books. After a while, somewhere between the age of 10-12, I sort of lost interest in story telling, and decided I would become a Lego set designer. That idea didn't last too long though.

When I was twelve, I was given my Dad's old, mostly useless business laptop once he got a new one. It didn't have internet, but I used it all day for a couple years, and learned hundreds of various computer tricks. Then I got a free program called "Blender", to make 3D models, and I learned to do that. I also played a very old two player game called "Marshmallow Duel" on there, since it was almost the only thing that old computer could run. I was fascinated by that game, and then I decided to become a video game designer. So I got myself into programming, and was learning that and modeling for a while. I did that until I turned 14.

Sometime when I was 14, my older brother found a computer in a dumpster, and brought it home for me. It was 20 times better than my current one(Yes, the laptop was THAT bad), so that was super exciting. At some point after that I learned about modding(Taking a game that's already been made, and making your own characters, levels, ect, for it), so I did that for a long time, and still do that today.

Nowadays, 4 years after I first decided to be a video game designer, I'm back into story telling, like I used to, but instead of making books or movies, I'm going to tell my stories through computer games. I've written several Game Design Documents, I can code and model(Though not very well :bigfrown ), animate, make websites, and write scripts. This is my current plan, and I'm most likely sticking to it! :yes

Other jobs I've put some thought into before have been a soldier, preacher, police officer or firefighter, or just sticking with a normal store job. I never got serious about any of those though.

Sorry for the long post....It wasn't meant to be that long, lol. Too easy for me to start ranting :shame
 
I was thinking forensics science but I feel pulled to ministry. Right now I'm searching for the lords path for me.
 
Had a lot of dream jobs.. first it was joining the "SWAT force" or something haha, then a graphics designer, and then a chef cook, and now it's becoming a pilot (commercial airlines, not air force) which I think I'll stick to. It seems awesome! If I can't become a pilot, I'll probably look into something with cooking or else something with music.
 
My brother is fascinated with planes, although more so military planes and fighter pilots than anything.
I was actually on a small 8 seater commercial plane recently. We could see the pilot. Was an interesting experience. :)




I'm wondering if I should look into animal training rather than vet technician. I used to train my dogs to do a lot of things, including on some simple at home agility equipment (think canine obstacle course). Wasn't anything like a professional, but I did more than most people do with their dogs. And I do know a thing or two about methods--used to read up it.

When I was younger, I wanted to be a scientist, until I found all those long, tongue-twisting scientific terms. Later I wanted to be a philosopher, but kind of knew that I may not have the sufficient interest level to do everything a philosopher does. Right now I'm planning on being a writer, touching a bit on some philosophy, apologetics, and science.

Funny, that sounds a lot like me. I want to be a philosopher of some kind, though it doesn't seem to pay too well. Mark Twain had amazing philosophy, yet he was a writer. I'd like to do something like that.

I want to be a writer, and I'd personally love to design video games, and come up with concepts. I have ideas for this one game, it'd be extremely abstract, it'd be about time travel and inter-dimensional travel.
