Dr John refers to Dr. John Walvoord served as President of DTS from 1952 until 1986. He authored over thirty books during that tenure ,today Im concerned with 2 of that total.

Back to our friend Dr. John.
Two titles of Dr John contain a common element I find troubling.
The Rapture Question, 1979, Major Bible Prophecies, 1991 .
All are Walvoord's explanations of his 'pre-tribulation' rapture doctrine and associated topics. That is not a problem and he is entitled to his view.
What disturbs me is a window on DF thinking that appears through these works. The subject of each is Bible prophecies set, according to Walvoord, to come to pass in the relatively near future. Each one has a great deal to say regarding the resurrection and its effects on the church the world and the end of history. None of these works even mention the verses quoted above. In The Rapture Question the entire sixth chapter of John is missing from the Scripture index. In Major Bible Prophecies John 6;54 appears in a note on page 246.
Imagine the head of the largest seminary in the world, of its type writing two separate books chiefly concerned with rapture/resurrection completely ignoring the only six passages in which our Lord personally makes declarations directly pertinent to the subject at hand. This is astounding and the silence speaks volumes.

- John 6:39
And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
- John 6:40
And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
- John 6:44
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
- John 6:54
Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
- John 7:37
In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
- John 11:24
Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day - John 12:48
He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
