Going through the motions of doing something because it's deemed right but you're not feeling it for real - you just can't find the love - is that wrong?

Could be anything ... looking after parents who hate your guts to doing a job you hate ...

.

Psalm 118:24
This is the day the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Nehemiah 8:10
Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

Romans 14:17
for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

If there's no joy in your life, you should pray about it ..... :pray

You mentioned looking after parents that are say, less than admirable, and or doing a job that you don't like.

If the task is righteous in Gods eye, but we do not like it, or are not "feeling" it, then we need to lean to that which is righteous, and draw closer to God for help with doing it. We should see it as an opportunity to be closer to God.

Yes, the right attitude is always something that one should strive to have. There is a Christian brother in the Church that I attend, who is a manager of a Jewish deli said to his boss, “there is no such thing as a difficult customer, only one whose need was unmet.” As a result of his right attitude many customers often chose to have him serve them.<O:p</O:p

In honor of him and for sake of those who could learn, here’s part of an email I received from a Church member.

Hi all, Herman Vargas was honored By Russ & Dauthters on 11/01/10. I and Michael Dawkins had the privilege to be there<O:p</O:p
on his special celebration. I had tears coming down my eyes seeing and hearing how so many people love Herman

Today Russ & Daughters will be closing early at 5:30 p.m. for a very special celebration. We will be honoring Herman Vargas on the occasion of his 30 years at Russ & Daughters. Herman started in the store as a 17-year-old peeling onions in the kitchen, and over the years has gone on to become the store’s long-standing manager, right hand man to three generations of the Russ family, friend and go-to-guy for countless customers, and he was immortalized as “Herman the Artistic Slicer” in Calvin Trillin’s book, Tepper Isn’t Going Out. Russ & Daughters would not be what it is today without Herman.

Yes! In this life we will always have such but a mind that is filled with joy the pain will be but for a time. Even death is not as hopeless as it seems to the one that understands God's plan and is thankful.<O:p</O:p
