We have certain friends who are late for EVERYTHING! We've long since held out hope that they will be on time. We simply give them a window of opportunity.
I've always been chronically on-time. If it's something at someone's house, we'll wait around the corner so we're "just on time", because we know how it feels to be rushing to get everything together and then have to play happy and entertain while we're moving things around. But I'm early for every meeting, worship service, and work. Heck, I arrive at work by 6:00am! That's 2 hours early, so I can work in peace for a while.
I used to think people who were late for everything had a certain egocentric view of the world and never considered that WE ARE A SOCIETY THAT'S WORKING TOGETHER!
I will admit having 3 children has made this a challenge, especially for morning functions. Our son usually takes 4 notifications before I finally have to kick him out of bed for church. That's because he's playing Call of Duty until 1:00am. But he gets himself up for school every morning for his 6:30 buss.
