Emotional Preaching?

Gabby... I don't have a problem praying for false teachers to be removed, in fact I do pray in some ways according to the way you outlined above.
I just don't believe theres much use in praying for someone that you know in your heart is a wolve in sheeps clothing to change and turn into something they never were.
A wolf was never a sheep nor will be.
It's best just to pray for their removal in my opinion.

I know that some people are just genuinely deceived and would change when put in a climate of truth. I pray differently when I discern those.
 
Destiny I can see where your coming from, but I'm not sure I agree to just let the wolves be wolves until they are removed. As long as they are wolves, they damage the work of true sheep, a weaker wolf will still act like a wolf.

I know it's hard to pray for those who call themselves sheep and they aren't but it would be better if the wolf cam e to be a sheep than stay a meager, but still alive wolf.
 
Surely, one can't suggest that a wolf can become a sheep. A wolf is a wolf inwardly no matter how good their fleece is. And grapes don't grow from thorn bushes.

"By their fruit you shall know them."

You are right Destiny. Scripture nowhere, instructs, encourages, exhorts, teaches that we should pray (for the salvation) of these.
 
Psalms 126:5-6
(5) They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
(6) He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

God gave us emotions!! Yet, he did not give them to us to make descions in our life.

He gave them for praise, for evidence of feeling, for many things...it is not wrong to use those God given emotions, but never to use them to manipulate people!!!
 
Let me try to put it in a different perspective.
Pray for the job position, if not the person.


The suggested prayer for the preacher type person "Save them or judge them." I have seen many people that we would assume to be wolves, get saved.

I have seen many wolves in sheeps clothing that preach better than some Christians. Perhaps God won't remove them until we start praying about the sort of person that should hold the microphone and talk to multitudes of people about God, the blood of Jesus Christ, what they have to do to stay out of hell, what they should be doing with their money, their relationships, their ministry, how to support missionaries, the art of spiritual warfare, how to deal with demonic problems, etc, etc.

Dear God,

Take the bad guys off of the air. Put some good guys in their place. Take the money away from the bad guys. Give it to some missionaries. In Jesus name. Amen.

Oh, and Lord, make your people care about such things.

So Mutz, you've always been a sheep? Last I knew we were all totally decieved by sin at some point, and thus a wolf. How then can you justify not praying for the gospel's light to shine and save a wolf, even a wolf that thinks they are a sheep?

Yes - I've always been a sheep. NEVER a wolf.

Your premise is wrong.

Wolves don't become sheep. They are always wolves. But lost sheep become found sheep.

Mutz, are you 100% accurate in discerning a wolf from a lost sheep? They can be real hard to tell apart.

1Cr 6:9-11 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? A story about weeping

Last July a Christian man came to me and ask me, I understand you're going to the county fair to witness can I go with you? Certainly I said, I welcome having you along. Now this man had no previous witnessing experience out in public and all and so he asked me for an outline of what to do. Well I don't have one I said, but you can write one up if you want.(By the way the outline he wrote up my head published on this forum several times. And I am sure you can find a copy of it). He titled it "THE QUESTION"
At the fair next day the man begin to use the outline. He had printed it up on a little card. Within 30 minutes he had led three people to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior. Then he had two people turn him down. But a total of about 12 people received the Lord Jesus Christ before 12 noon. All this from working with the little note he had made about how to witness. Then comes a dramatic conversion right in front of him. A married couple had walked up and when he asked them the question the husband replied yes I am saved I know The Lord Jesus Christ. The woman however said I do not know that I'm going to heaven I do not believe I am saved. Where upon my friend begin to take her through his note about salvation. Upon completing the prayer the woman begins to weep uncontrollably, falls down on her knees and begans to thank the Lord for her salvation. The husband is beside himself with joy as the woman continues to praise the Lord while they are walking away. My friend is completely blown away by this and just sets shaking his head.
About an hour later my friend is silently praying, there is no one around when suddenly he breaks down and begins to weep uncontrollably. After a period of time he recovered enough to ask me what happened to me, what happened to me? I of course have seen the Holy Spirit fall on many different people, and seen many different reactions, and so I told him that the Holy Spirit was bubbling to the surface in him. Well that's the story and I thought perhaps you might find it interesting as concerns crying.[/i]
