ESP: a gift from God?

ESP, or extrasensory perception, is a broad term that covers psychic abilities such as telepathy, clairvoyance, clairaudience, and the generic term of sixth sense. Parapsychology is the study of ESP. Now that we have all that defined...

As a child I used to have dreams, visions or whatever you want to call them. I would see things clear as day, in full color, and in vivid detail. Shortly thereafter, those events would happen for real, and it would cause deja vu. I could never explain the phenomenon.

I very rarely have this happen now, as an adult. I am aware that the Bible speaks of soothsayers, sorcerers, etc. but it also speaks of gifts from God. As a child, is ESP a gift? Was I supposed to do something with it? Can it be harnessed and disciplined? I may never know.

To the carrier of the gift, it isn't worth it. All you have to look forward to is being judged, and for all the insight you might have into other people's psyches, you will almost inevitably be blind as a bat when it comes to your own life.

People who think esp would be 'cool' or 'fun' are immature, imho.

Still, as nearly worthless as such a 'gift' is to its bearer, I should never charge money for consultations like some do. It's like charging the blind to describe to them how the world looks. :gah
