There are only three differences between humans and other apes.
Body Hair: We've got less, though in the case of mediterraneans not by much.
Erect stature: We stand up, all other apes have a bone structure that leaves them partially bowed down.
Not so, apes don't have feet like humans. Human DNA is different (about 1.5%)
Humans have bigger brains and more advanced reasoning capabilities.
Humans have a rapid ability to learn languages, apes need intensive reinforcement in order to acquire only a limited amount of language skills.
Apes have:
1. small brain size, averaging about 400 cc (ancient apes had brains up to 530 cc)
2. arms longer than the legs
3. feet like hands with opposable big toe
4. walking on all fours
5. spine joins skull from the back
6. a knee joint that will not lock upright
7. very hairy body (for heat insulation)
8. coloured sclera of the eye (brown)
9. vocal cords capable of only simple sounds
10. earlier sexual maturity
11. no hymen or ‘live’ clitoris in female
12. mammary glands purely for milk production
Humans Have
1. large but very variable brain size, averaging about 1400 cc (fossils range from 700-1700 cc)
2. legs longer than the arms
3. feet for walking, not climbing
4. upright posture and gait
5. spine joins skull from below
6. 47 facial muscles for expression
7. flesh and organ tissue more like pig than ape
8. knee joints that lock upright
9. short, low-density hair over most of the body
10. white sclera
11. voice-box capable of complex sounds & singing
12. later sexual maturity
13. hymen, clitoris, pubic hair, sexual climax in female
14. female breasts enhanced (by body fat)
